Video – Rafa Speaks After Bohemian Rout – Team Played Well

Here is an interview Rafa gave yesterday to an Irish reporter immediately after the 6-0 rout of Bohemian yesterday afternoon.

The reporter rightly pointed out that Bohemian had only just played a derby game against the south Dublin club Shamrock Rovers on the previous day, when they lost 3-1 in the League of Ireland Premier League, so it was difficult for them yesterday.

Only three players who started against Shamrock on Friday afternoon, started the game yesterday so it was really a reserve side Bohemian put out.

I love this guy but can’t help feel he seems surprised himself at what words come out of his mouth

Yeah terrible break. He’s usually quite fortunate with injuries too.

Condolences to the family and close friends of Liam and John on this sad day. May the pain fade in time and leave you with just happy memories.

Best wishes to Demba as well. Hope your recovering is as quick as possible. From what looked like an innocuous challenge that was a shocking outcome. The tib and fib can be quick healing breaks if the snap is straightforward, so I hope for the best. Good luck with that.

Cheers Lesh. Nice of you to think of us.
The credit card option looks best for us, and we’ve been in contact with the hotel.
    Thanks again.

Looks like Nkoudou is off to Spurs for eleven million quid so Marseille might be looking for a new winger. I’d take nine or ten million for Thauvin and get a good British winger in who can survive in the Championship.

Wow, quiet in here today. Even the usual suspects aren’t around arguing with each other like eight year olds. Wonder if they went and got a life? Nah, no chance of that 😀

Fighting talk after a two hour blog kill NUFCPaul 🙂

It may be a record. Keep coming to the nets.

Sickened to hear one my all time faves has suffered a painful, freak leg injury. Get well soon Slank.

Not as bad as Blackley’s freak lawn-mowing accident though. I’m surprised it wasn’t in the local papers. It was in Huddersfield.

Clinath. I do sympathise about your holiday. What a shabby country this is.
Chase your money. Do nothing on the phone. Keep a “paper” trail.

Sad about Ba. I hope he recovers well. Might be the end at his age though. I’m still looking back at our last Championship season and comparing those players to the current crop:
GK: mostly Harper (45 apps total), Krul 3
Current GK’s: Krul, Elliot, Sels, Darlow
    Current team stronger in goal.
Back 4: Colo 37 apps, Saylor 21, Willow 16 etc.
Current Back 4: Janmaat, Mbemba, Lascelles, Dummett, Satka, Haidara etc
Current team at least as good and younger with more to come.
Midfield: Nolan, Barton, Guthrie, Duff, Smith, Jonas, Geremi etc.
Current midfield: Colback, Sissoko, Tiote, Wini, Anita, Shelvey, Aarons, Saivet etc
Current midfield not as suited to the Championship as 2009-2010 MF’s
Forwards: Lovehandles, Ameobi, Best, Carroll etc.
Current forwards: Gayle, Mitrovic, with Perez, De Jong and Gouffy all able to fill in.
Current squad not as deep in strikers with experience unless we get another one.
All in all the current team will have it’s hands full trying to match the record of the team from 2009-2010. If we get a good CB and ideally another striker with more experience we could do it.

I think, and I may be wrong, but if you booked a package including flights, transfers and accommodation etc, you should be able to recover your full costs via your credit card provider.

I love Turkey and feel sorry that your break’s been spoiled.

There’s always next year though. Cornwall’s a nice substitute though.

Yes Lesh, it is looking promising. We will know tomorrow when everyone’s back at work.
We bought the Labrador last year and said UK holidays would be our future so we could run him on the beaches, this was to be our last. So though disappointed, no real loss actually. (Hopefully!)

Aye G2, I just saw that on YouTube before, good awld fashioned break that was. Leg snaps completely in two and hangs off.

The mad bit about it is they replayed it repeatedly from different angles with the commentator commentating over it, you wouldn’t see that over here. They say its too graphic and save us from it usually.

Probably run tings slightly differently in China me thinks.

I just realised you meant Owen
    Technically not a baler
His contract expired in June and he said he was going way before that.
I think the brochure he put out in the Spring told everyone his intentions , he was gone relegation or no.

That team had Collo, Jonas, Nolan, Barton, Harper, and Carroll and Ameobi, who in tandem both battered and terrorised opposition defences, as well as a number of able deputies, but also one or two who wouldn’t get a sniff in the current group.

Nolan, Barton, Smith, Carroll and Ameobi, were very well suited to rigours and style of Championship football, while Collocini and Jonas just too good for that level. This group has potentially the better quality football in it though, even more accomplished players, and more depth. The league is also probably better though now than it was then, with more money sloshing around, making it harder to replicate such a good season, but on paper, we probably should.
