We Need To Deliver For Everybody Associated With Newcastle

12:42 pm, Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 7 Comments

One of the players with a great attitude at Newcastle is Vurnon Anita and he is becoming a bit of a fan favorite these days as he has already come out and said he is very happy to stay at Newcastle and help us fight our way beck to the Premier League although it will not be an easy task.

That’s a lot better than some other players who simply talk about wanting to leave to join a bigger club – and as quickly as possible.

Vurnon Anita and Rafa Benitez last season

When Rafa Benitez came in last March Vurnon sound found himself playing at right back and he put some excellent performances and even scored that great goal against Manchester City.

Vurnon has talked today in the Chronicle about Rafa and how the Spanish manager has given a lift to everybody associated with the Newcastle club.

This is what Vurnon has said from Belgium where Newcastle are preparing take on Sporting Lokeren this afternoon in the third friendly of preseason:

“It wasn’t just a big boost for the team it was a boost for everybody at the club as well.” “We have a big name like Rafa Benitez as a coach.”

“Hopefully, we can continue the good run from the last part of the season.”

“All of the fans are ready for the new season and that’s great to see us perform.”

“We need to deliver to everybody in Newcastle – and of course our fans abroad.”

Newcastle will be backed by a large contingent of supporters who have traveled to Belgium to support the lads and that follows on from the Doncaster game on Wednesday night when 2200 Newcastle supporters were in attendance.

That’s just fantastic support right there.

Let’s hope the lads can put in a good and spirited performance in both halves this afternoon and hopefully that defense will be a lot more solid..

Comments welcome.

dont think any team out there will pay Riviere the wages I am assuming we are paying him. He will be here for the whole contract unless he goes on loan and we split the wages – another Gouffran/Marveaux etc

any idea if there is a stream of the game today? Not holding out hope after the lack of them so far.

I agree with most of what you say bud,But take out Gayle and Cf wise we are in the exact same position as last season.i know on paper we are in an inferior league, But we couldn’t hit a barn door. Proof was in the pudding in the first half as we were as wasteful as ever .

Even tho I thought Gamez looked solid when he came on. I would like us to bring in a reliable and dominant Lb,Rather than playing players out of position.

The Newbie as yet that looks a top player in the making has to be Hayden.Playing just in front of Lascelles as a Dm should be more than adequate for the Championship

I just don’t rate Anita, should of always been a RB but thinks himself a CM. Not good enough for NUFC but now we are in the championship he will get another year (at least) on the books
