Lots Of Transfers – In And Out – Still To Come In Next Four Weeks

9:24 pm, Saturday, July 30th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 99 Comments

There are some players who will still leave Newcastle this summer and Rafa Benitez knows that and he is working hard to bring in new players as soon as possible, who will replace those still to leave.

Moussa Sissoko returns to the club on Monday from his summer break and is likely to go to either Real Madrid or Juventus fairly quickly.

The fee for the Frenchman is likely to be huge – and hopefully £35M – which is said to be Newcastle’s asking price for the French International.

florian thauvin in ireland

Florian Thauvin – will likely leave soon for Lazio

Other players likely to be gone before September are Cheick Tiote and Florian Thauvin and they were the only outfield players who were left on the bench today.

Daryl Janmaat may also move on, but we hope Daryl will stay on Tyneside, and Frenchman Yoan Gouffran may leave, but he could also be a useful squad player for us this season.

Players like Sammy Ameobi, Haris Vuckic and Gael Bigirimana are not good enough and will be moved out either permanently or on loan this summer.

And Rafa’s plans for the future do not include French striker Emmanuel Riviere, who has been a bust since he signed on from Monaco two years ago for £6M.

Manu should leave Newcastle this summer for his own good and get his career back on track – probably at some club back in France.

Newcastle have brought in six players and moved eight players out so far, but those numbers will go up in the next four weeks.

Comments welcome.

Will be interesting to see what squad we have by September!!

There has been loads achieved, scrapping the ridiculous transfer policy and the “we don’t do cups” policy is a huge achievement. Getting a manager who has put obstacles in their way instead of a spineless yes man willing to go along with a set up he knows is doomed to fail was a huge turn in the right direction.

  • 3 cyprus // Jul 30, 2016 at 9:38 PM

Thanks for the detailed reports by those who get to attend games, I haven’t missed a game (TV) for years but I fear I’ll miss a few this time around.

Anyway, I suspect we’ll often be the televised championship game.

  • 4 SUTTY1978 // Jul 30, 2016 at 9:44 PM

Jail, Carver was very good at putting obstacles in the way, when I say obstacles I obviously mean cones…

  • 5 Bobbybee // Jul 30, 2016 at 9:46 PM

Jail, posted overleaf but Ed beat me to it. Where was everyone? We were both optimistic i think, though i ain’t heard the attendance – i just know i lost! 😉

Did anybody else notice the drug sniffer dogs outside the gates for their fans? Talk about typecasting an entire nation!! 😉 Outrageous really and bordering on racism, coz i didn’t see the dogs anywhere else. 😉

Why don’t you just forget what’s happened in the last couple of years and just enjoy what’s happening now under Rafa, just a thought like.

  • 7 welshgeordie9 // Jul 30, 2016 at 9:50 PM

Wow you lot moaning about our defence, Look at Chelsea tonight losing 3-1 at the moment to Real Madrid.

  • 8 Jail for Ashley // Jul 30, 2016 at 9:54 PM

  • 9 Our Toon // Jul 30, 2016 at 9:59 PM

Chelsea losing 3-1 to real madrid and you say look at their defence!! Explain why that scoreline is surprising?

  • 10 jimmysmith // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:01 PM

We’ll probably end up making about 40 50 mill on this window, leaving us with an inferior but better balanced group to last season. Someone mentioned fifth. I’d say top five for sure and 80% likelihood of going back up, most likely as Champions.

  • 11 toontime // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:02 PM

Does anyone know when the squad numbers get announced? I know we can’t read too much into them but it’ll be interesting to see who gets the likes of number 2, 5, 7 (assuming sissoko is away) and 9. It may give us an indication of the starting 11 and also positions which he still may fancy filling…

  • 12 Jail for Ashley // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:02 PM

Bairn seemed to enjoy the game well didn’t get bored at least. Maybe with the weather being so shite all summer people decided to do something else on a rare nice day, a lot of people on holiday as well. I though he’d just stick to three subs as well but it was good to get a glimpse of everyone.
Tenner is for a good cause anyway.

  • 13 Our Toon // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:03 PM

It’s still to early to say it’s changed, it looks like we have changed but with Ashley you just never know. Rafa might get us promoted and then asked to leave like Houghton….it can all change very quickly which is why I say nothing has been achieved, if in 2 years time Rafa is still here and we continue to progress then I’ll say it’s changed.

Bobby – yeah thought Armstrong had been out and was returning which then doesn’t surprise me regarding his sub standard performance but he needs to pick himself up quickly as we may not give him to many chances. I’m very concerned by the defence at set pieces

  • 14 welshgeordie9 // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:04 PM

    Our Toon

I’m just pointing out that the best teams in the world concede goals.

  • 15 croftus5678 // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:06 PM

    @11 toon

i’d like to know how many players over 21 we have also !
we need to ship a load on i.e. river bigi, good, vukic ect… the way things are going i can see goofy staying as it seems benny has a use for him.

  • 16 Bobbybee // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:08 PM

On the 50th anniversary of England’s only achievement, a little story for you. Obviously we all know about the game, so no point recalling that, but what always stuck in my head was half time. I was nine – just – and at half time my mam sent me to the shop to get her a packet of fags. How times change! I came out of the house and it was like the end of the world. Nobody was on the streets. Not even any cars passing me on the road. It was downright spooky to a young lad. Got to the shop, to find the keeper watching the proceedings on his tv, that he’d brought down from his flat and was using coathangers to get a reception. Again, not a soul on the streets for the journey home and i got there just before ko – so a ten minute trip to the shop without seeing another living soul, other than the shopkeeper. So strange, it’s stayed with me all my life. The whole country must’ve been glued to the box. Shows what a big deal it was.

  • 17 Jail for Ashley // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:10 PM

I’m not going to worry about what Ashley may or may not do. All we know is that weeks of talks went on to minimise Ashley reverting to type. Rafa is the first manager under Ashley’s regime that has came in a position of strength. Even if he fails at least there is now a point to our existence.

  • 18 Our Toon // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:11 PM

Yes, all teams concede goals. Big difference between playing vitesse and Real Madrid though!

  • 19 jimmysmith // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:12 PM

Yeah, I’m also cautious about how Rafa’s relationship with the owner might develop. He will want good amounts of money to reshape the squad each year he’s with us, and of course won’t hesitate to walk if he’s unhappy. I also suspect he’ll be going into the season with a weaker group than he imagined and have doubts that he would stay on if he fails to take us back at the first attempt.

  • 20 toontime // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:12 PM

Croftus, I think a few of them may be loan deals and they tend to happen after all the buying and selling has been done. I’d hope that the players that are clearly not going to make the grade get loaned out with an option to buy as they seem to have been around for far too long now… Although, we could just see them running their contracts down.

As for Gouffran, he’s a reserve substitute at best really isn’t he. He’s not going to get into many of the first 18 on match days. And might be another one who is moved on if and when we get a few more over the line.

It’ll be interesting to see if he goes for a few loan deals come the end of the window. Maybe raid the Spanish league for youngsters or players at the end of their careers? Although if gamez is anything to go by, maybe we should stay clear. He was awful today.

  • 21 Our Toon // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:14 PM

I’d defo keep gouffran as he can be a useful squad player, riviere I’m 50/50 on but if we got a long term injury to either Gayle or mitro we would be knackered so potentially keep him. Sissoko, Thauvin and unfortunately Tiote are off so that will reduce the numbers.

  • 22 welshgeordie9 // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:14 PM

    Our Toon

Of course there’s a difference but Chelsea concedes goals in the premier to lower teams,

  • 23 welshgeordie9 // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:15 PM

Nice positive comment there, for once.

  • 24 Our Toon // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:18 PM

Rafa had all the chips as we got relegated, if promoted then Ashley is back where he wants to be. Like I say with Houghton he pulled the plug and can do just as easily with Rafa. At this moment Ashley needs rafa!!

  • 25 Jail for Ashley // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:18 PM

Get off your wind up, I’ve been very upbeat since Rafa came in and you know it!

  • 26 clinath@ed // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:19 PM

I’ve said in the past, any further monies received this summer MAY be kept until January to see how things develop.

  • 27 Our Toon // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:20 PM

No one is complaining about conceding goals in general, we are complaining at conceding goals from set pieces and giving away daft goals. Big difference mate, it’s about making a team work for the goals not gifting them away

  • 28 Bobbybee // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:21 PM

Our toon, aye, the lad didn’t kick a ball properly until we got back from Ireland and clearly Rafa hasn’t tried to rush him back, giving him 20-30 minutes here and there. It takes time to get match fit, let alone peak sharpness and it obviously showed today. Maybe if they’d picked out more than just one of his runs things might’ve been different, but every time he set off on one, they played it in another direction! You need to play to his strengths firstly, which is his runs through the channels and behind the defence. I’m sure Rafa has seen his vids and he knows about getting match sharp. Maybe the first half of the season on loan so he comes back as sharp as he can be? He’s so much better than he was today and he’ll show it when he gets 100% again. My opinion on the kid hasn’t changed, that’s for sure. 😉

  • 29 Our Toon // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:25 PM

That’s good to here buddy, yeah it would be good to get him out on loan early on but no point in dropping back down to league 1. He can still contribute to us though this season, hopefully the lad takes the opportunity when it comes his way

  • 30 welshgeordie9 // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:29 PM

    Our Toon

    I know mate.

  • 31 welshgeordie9 // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:30 PM

Was actually giving you a compliment, with a cheeky ending.

  • 32 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:30 PM

arma could do with a fit SDJ to see those runs, thats the intelligence and creativity we seem to be just lacking at the minute unfortunately…but tbh even my patients is waring thin with sdj’s injuries…i know its not his fault but its so bloody frustrating coz him fit would take this side to another level, i believe…..i doubt we will ever see that now…hope im wrong still.

  • 33 Bobbybee // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:33 PM

Our toon, he’s done league one and a goal every other game average says it all. Personally, at this stage, i’d give him time here because he’ll be learning from the best – Rafa. Where else will he get an education like that, with respect to other managers in the Championship? He’ll prove himself, but he’s had an injury at what can only be described as the worst time possible. I think our first half midfield would’ve suited him better, but that’s life innit? Injuries come and go, but his talent will remain. He’s about where i’d expect him to be coming back from an injury lay off – not as sharp as normal.

  • 34 welshgeordie9 // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:39 PM

Anyone think we will get another forward in by next Friday, i hope we do, Mitrovic suspended, Armstrong don’t think he will feature at all, rivière …………….. enough said, with Perez and Gayle in the starting lineup there will be no one on the bench.

  • 35 Bobbybee // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:39 PM

Springy, they played so well together in the U21’s because SDJ was on the same wavelength mentally. He did pick his runs and it paid off. I hope de jong does get fit because he’s far better than we’ve seen of him. Talk about unlucky injury wise! Freaky injuries by anybody’s standards! Let’s hope this season he can stay fit because he will rip the Championship apart. With his brain, he doesn’t need pace, yet always looks to have time on the ball, which is always a sign of quality. Fingers crossed.

  • 36 Graeme // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:40 PM

Bayern 3 – 0 Inter Quite a good game to be honest.

  • 37 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:40 PM

does anyone know when the squad numbers are sorted,i’m expecting 3 to leave this week, sissoko, thauvin and tiote…so maybe they will be announced wed-thursday…give any transfers in or out a little time to get sorted

  • 38 check the toastie // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:41 PM

bobby – sorry bud I know you have every faith in Armstrong but he will end up in league two, not enough pace.

  • 39 Graeme // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:43 PM

    Bayern 4 – 0 after 35 minutes lol

  • 40 lesh // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:46 PM

Riviere, like Thauvin just hasn’t been able to show what Carr saw to justify his signing them.

Or maybe there was nowt to see that would add anything to the Club?

So, why did he recommend signing those two?

  • 41 lesh // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:48 PM

Whoops, forgot to include Cabella with Riviere and Thauvin. Come to think of it, there’s been a lot of money wasted on those three.

  • 42 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:49 PM

i like sdj…but his injuries…bloody hell man…this bloke must of kicked several black cats while standing under a ladder while someone was pricking a voodoo doll!…just horrendous run of injuries….but joking aside arma could struggle to get in this side if sdj or someone else does’nt start seeing these runs, being on the same wave length…if this kid is as good as you believe he’ll get frustrated and eventually leave…which could be a big loss…if he going to be that good….but thats not just an arma thing we do struggle to create chances..or shall i say last season we struggled.. maybe with rafa coming in and few wins the confidence will return,so will the creation….we’ll see friday i suppose.

  • 43 Bobbybee // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:52 PM

Welshie, don’t judge the kid whilst he’s coming back from injury. Let’s be fair, we spent more time on the back foot during his pitch time anyway and didn’t pick out his runs. He played most of the time facing the wrong way, when his strengths are the channels and getting behind the defence. He can’t use his pace facing his own goal after all. Bad time to get injured, but he’ll bounce back. Like any other player coming back from two months without kicking a ball, it takes time to get sharp again. Sadly, his injury came when time was against him. That’s life unfortunately.

  • 44 Graeme // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:53 PM

Springy @ 42 – but thats why its so important to get The Bald One up to speed and back to his best – or bring in a Winegum replacement asap!!

  • 45 Graeme // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:55 PM

    Half time Bayern 4 – 0 Inter!!!

  • 46 lesh // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:56 PM

You’re not suggesting for one minute that Pardew and McLaren were yes men?

Pardew, I’d say, knew what he was getting into and McLaren genuinely thought he could change those daft policies and practices.

I wonder if Ashley and his flunkies, Charnley and Carr regret bringing Rafa in or could it really be that they’ve recognised their past stupidity?

  • 47 Bobbybee // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:58 PM

Check, not enough pace? Really? We’ll have to agree to differ on that. Check his vids when he was fit mate. Bags of pace. First 15 yards electric from standing, which is where so many of his goals come from. Pace is one thing he’s not lacking.

  • 48 Jib // Jul 30, 2016 at 10:58 PM

There are more and more stories like this circulating in the Spanish media.

Viz – that Benitez dislikes RM so much that he won’t sell Sissoko to them.
If they would offer the asking price instead of flanneling – they may get somewhere.

  • 49 ShirebrookToon // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:01 PM

When will De Jong be fit again? This has got to be his make or break season imo

  • 50 Shadow_Shearer // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:01 PM

With all this talk of needing extra creativity, makes me wonder when will SDJ become fully fit.
If he ever does, I feel so much more confident we will win the championship, & with ease. The difference he will make be difference between day & night.
the big question here is, will he ever be fully fit.

  • 51 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:03 PM

aye your probably right,if theres anyone in the squad who has the ability to see a pass it him….maybe with his new fitness we’ll see more quality from him.

  • 52 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:09 PM

no clue as to how abd his injury was/is…never read anything about how long he’ll be out for,or if he’ll be available friday?…physioroom used to have a rough guide to injury lay offs but even they have nowt…dont even have him down as injured….unless they have fobbed us off with dropping down a league?…nowt on newsnow, websites…nowt really… unless someone can get a reporter to ask rafa whats the crack with sdj….ganna be a guessing game.

  • 53 SUTTY1978 // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:09 PM

We should buy Britt Assombalonga from Forest. Great striker, strong & fast. Will get 20 goals this season.

  • 54 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:10 PM

i agree about it being make or break…no show this season they might cut there losses if he’s willing to go.

  • 55 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:11 PM

were we not linked with him at the start of the transfer window…seem to remember his name mentioned?

  • 56 Bobbybee // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:13 PM

SS, we need either of those to get back to their best, or both Arma and Gayle will suffer. They rely on balls being played behind the defence, through the channels to feed on. Those passes need to be delivered when the players start their runs, or they’ll just run offside. We know De Jong can do it when fit, as can Shelvey when on form. Knockaert can do it if we sign him – hopefully – and then there’s young Callum Roberts if he breaks through this season. That’s Rafa’s job though, to make it happen.

  • 57 lesh // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:13 PM

The sniffer dogs were at SJP coz the bizzies knew that there’d be grass in their.

Hey ho…….. Mind, back in the day, pre-match refreshments meant three or four pints in the Haymarket (for those too young to remember it, it was where there’s a gap opposite the Haymarket monument on Percy St) followed by a relaxing cigarettes on the way up. Sunny Saturdays were ok then!

  • 58 Shadow_Shearer // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:14 PM

One player I think looks a much better player under rafa guidance is colback. Got a goal today, & I reckon not alot of ppl see how much better a player he is now compared to the previous managers.

  • 59 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:15 PM

charlie put a list of champ strikers up a few threads back…after i asked him if there were strikers come to mind we should try and get…cant say i’d heard of some of them maybe you know more about them,al try and find it.

  • 60 SUTTY1978 // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:15 PM

Bobby. I agree with Arma looking like being a very good player, some of his finishes last year were superb. Doesn’t seem to turn it on in the same way playing for the Toon. With some players they are a bit scared of making a mistake in front of a big crowd and then start to not trust their instincts which results in them being a second too late to everything, or even looking slow.
Really want him to make it but sometimes it’s a mentality thing rather than talent related. Clearly you’ve watched him a lot more than me, so just my take on it.

  • 61 ShirebrookToon // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:16 PM

Springy with him and Shelvey in the team we could be deadly as both have an eye for a pass and De Jong would be ideal playing in the number ten threading balls through to the likes of Gayle and Arma

  • 62 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:18 PM

Ross McCormack 21 goals last year for Fulham
Jonathan Kodja 18 for Bristol City
    Moussa Dembele 15 for Fulham
Martin Foresteiri 15 for Sheff Wed

  • 63 toon kk // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:19 PM

I hope we bring some good quality players in before the end of the transfer window, or alot of fans are in for some major disappointment. The championship is a very tough league and we’re not ready.

  • 64 Shadow_Shearer // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:19 PM

Last I heard about SDJ injury was the nasty eye injury. I’m sure that’s when brolly was in charge. Become the forgotten man of newcastle since.

  • 65 SUTTY1978 // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:19 PM

Yes, saw that earlier Springy. Fernando Forrestieri is a decent little player that was on the list and has also been linked with us.
Assombalonga was bought by Forest with the money they got from us for Darlow and Lascelles. Had a really bad injury that kept him out for a year but think his back fully fit now. Nailed on for goals in the Championship.

  • 66 lesh // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:19 PM

  • 74 SUTTY1978 // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:28 PM

Chris Martin is another good one at Derby. He’s like a better version of Mitro (which I hate to say as I love Mitro!)

  • 75 ShirebrookToon // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:29 PM

I’d try a cheeky bid for Chris Martin got 15 last season for Derby

  • 76 Bobbybee // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:30 PM

Sutty, i’ve already said the kid had a bad game today, but also laid out the mitigating circumstances in his defence. He’s got time on his side and i doubt mentality will be a problem, he’s very level headed for a young lad. What he does need though, even when just coming back from injury like he is now, is balls played to his strengths. I’d like to see – when he’s fit – him playing alongside Gayle, rather than Mitro. They play a similar game and that would encourage the midfield to be looking for those runs all the time. With Mitro up front we tend to play to his strengths first, which whilst being understandable, takes others out of the game a bit.
Thought Colback was our best player today like. He really is underrated, probably because he doesn’t do the glory work, he does the hard work. If you get my drift. Today he won ball after ball after ball and dominated the midfield.

  • 77 ShirebrookToon // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:33 PM

De Jong could be the new Kevin Nolan for us lol.
I’d like to see Saivet get a run of games as we’ve not seen much of him since we signed him back in January. He can also play in a more advanced role and has pace.

  • 78 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:40 PM

saivet’s strength is meant to be his pace at closing people down, tackling, harrassing players not allowing them to play there own game and when he has the ball is very strong and can pass well…this is just what i’ve read…have’nt seen anywhere near enough to call him good or bad tbh…i know he used to be a really quick winger but injuries took a bit of his pace so converted to def/central midfielder but still fairly quick apparently.

  • 79 ShirebrookToon // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:46 PM

Well I hope he proves to be a good player as we need every man to be on his game this season as it ain’t gonna be no walk in the park

do you think perez is getting tweaked into playing the number 10 role?….i ask coz he doe’snt really fit the out and out striker mould,as lacks a little pace and strength but can finish well which a number defo needs to be able to do, links well and has an eye for a pass…..i hope this is case as seeing him moved from pillar to post cant be doing him much good.

  • 81 Our Toon // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:47 PM

    Sutty and Shirebrook

Chris Martin of Derby? The bloke is 28 defo not what we need but found it bizarre that Sutty thinks he’s better than mitro. What have you based that on?

Ones a young lad who’s got a lot to learn still and got 9 goals for us last season in top flight football and who’s an international. The other Martin got 15 goals in the championship is 28 and at his peak, I think you are in a minority who think Martin is better than mitro.

Forresteri and knockaert are 2 players that would improve the quality of the squad and these are the lads we should be looking at.

Having Gayle and Armstrong start as a pair wouldn’t work mate, they want to make the same runs and won’t compliment each other. Add to that all teams will need to do is sit deep and prevent the space in behind which will nullify the team.

Sorry lesh, just realised i missed your post somehow.
Aye, i remember that walk up the gap like yesterday. 😉 Or stagger…
We used to populate the Beer Keller before games. You could always judge the crowd by how full it was. 😉 Strippers and being allowed to stand on the long tables to sing ‘if the kids are united…’ Why would we not go there lmao! Those definitely were the days marra. 😉

  • 84 SPRINGY // Jul 30, 2016 at 11:58 PM

leon best to west brom on a free….strange.

  • 85 Bobbybee // Jul 31, 2016 at 12:05 AM

Our toon, they’d make different runs in different directions, which would also open gaps for midfield to burst through. Down to good coaching to maximise that situation.
Springy, whatever happens he needs to give Perez a fixed position, whether it’s No10 or wherever. He picked Colback out nicely today, when normally he’d have gone for goal from where he was. He needs to settle this season, because he was bang average last season for most of it. His pre season suggests he’s back to his best.

Sutty, good point, not for the first time. Assombalonga at Forest is a serious handful, and better than mitro, certainly more dynamic. But we cant blame fans for calling us arrogant if we try to poach every second teams star player.

  • 87 Bobbybee // Jul 31, 2016 at 12:13 AM

Well, it’s been a long day for a decrepit old git like me, so i’m ready for my bed. Happy with the win, albeit just a friendly. First half especially. Get Knockaert signed up and it’ll round off the weekend nicely. Good craic to follow it as well. Happy days indeed. Now, roll on Friday night… 😉

  • 88 Bobbybee // Jul 31, 2016 at 12:17 AM

Just caught that munster. Couldn’t give a toss what they call us – we’re deluded anyway remember? If it wins us the league by strengthening our squad whilst weakening theirs, I’ll take all the abuse they throw at us. 😉 g’night all.

  • 89 Munster Mag // Jul 31, 2016 at 12:17 AM

Our toon i understand the game reasonably well but dont wish to claim i know more than rafa or pardew or others. But i questioned why rafa played sissoko completely ineffectively on the left in a few games and gor berated by Jail and co. I also questioned his tactics and ambition in vital 6 pointers and this wasnt acceptable to those fans who have such little respect for the club that a very good manager has to be made a God because we are only little nufc. My criticism was fair and balanced. I’d hate to lose rafa but i will deify him when he deserves it. Remember thou shat not say ANYTHING negative re rafa, even if deserved!

Bobby sleep well buddy. The Championship is far better for fans than that overrated prem shite. Makems better start buying or they are in deep shiite 🙂

  • 91 Munster Mag // Jul 31, 2016 at 12:25 AM

Martoon no bets from me till a week or two. We need flair or we will draw too many games under the 4231 system. If we get two more decent players we will win it i think. We cud do with norwich losing brady

I like the sound of Assombalonga – think of the chant potential – it just rolls off the lips!!

  • 93 Veltmann // Jul 31, 2016 at 5:10 AM

Haven’t seen any of our preseason matches, let alone the highlights. But looks perfect preseason and preparation.Though most of the teams we played look weak side.I like to see both Knokeart and Pritchard signed up.Have not seen both of them but looked decent players judging by reports and some comments, and may be the best we can get from the availables. After that,I’ll feel strength and more confident for the campaign ahead.Sadly though, not be able to watch any of our matches for a year as Chmshp games will not be transmitted in our area 🙁
Good luck to Benitez and the players!
    Am gonna miss my team.

  • 98 Jail for Ashley // Jul 31, 2016 at 8:26 AM

    Good morning Moanster,
Yes I understand why you have to be so critical towards El Díos. Top managers have just simply lined up to manage little old Newcastle under Mike Ashley, if I had more respect for the club I’d be slating Rafa too for every perceived tactical blunder. I read the comments after the Leicester game, Fans, bloggers and pundits were upbeat on a improved performance and new attitude, yet you chose to question Sissokos switch to the left, where let’s face it he’d been pretty shite on the right all season, so from all the plusses of the game you pick up on that using SMC as a reference, “if he’d done that he’d have been murdered”. Lilongwe couldn’t understand why Perez had been brought off, he didn’t rubbish the new found excitement of a top manager coming in over it. You have continually poured cold water on Rafas arrival from day one. I don’t understand it.
