Ciaran Clark To Have Newcastle Medical Today

12:01 pm, Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 13 Comments

Pat Murphy of the BBC is reporting today that Ciaran Clark will have his medical today prior to his move to Newcastle after the Tyneside club activated the release clause in his contract yesterday.

If that’s true it means that both Mo Diame and Ciaran are having Newcastle medicals today after Sky Sports reported Diame was on his way to Newcastle earlier today.

    Spoof @ 64

I agree that we will be the club to beat and as such teams will park their bus on St James Park lawn but on their own ground they may well go hell for leather to beat us thereby leaving themselves exposed at the back.

Neither of those Madrid Players excite. It looks like if that offer is to be true it’s Real simply going “we don’t need that guy, no one wants to buy him, offer him instead of cash”. Hopefully Rafa will know better than me though and will decide what is best for us. Can’t wait to see Sissoko go. He optimises everything that has been wrong with this club for so long.

Never seen either of the RM lads play, however, I would hope Rafa is familiar with both, so will let him judge. With regard to the Clark signing, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, however, if he is here as cover, then we could do a lot worse. At least he isn’t Zurab.

I suppose we’re 4-5 in the black on transfers still. Diame and Clark for £10m and Sissoko leaving for £30m and we’ve got as strong a team, if not stronger in some areas than last season.

£25m in the black, no need to sell anybody else. Maybe Thauvin, Gouffran and Riviere with 1 more incoming if anything from their proceeds, preferably a winger.

Still really want Brady. Would solve 2 problems. Could be our primary LB and LW competition. Might cost £12m+ but I think he’s worth it in today’s market.

Will leave a bit for January or to stockpile depending on our situation in Jan.

I definitely don’t think we’ll struggle in the same way a newly promoted club normally struggles in their first season back if we get promoted. The vast majority of our players have PL experience and we have a top, top manager in place who knows the league like the back of his hand. I’d have preferred to take that young Man U LB and have Dummet on the bench but I have every faith Rafa will get it right.

is that man u lb any good, same as taylor at leeds?….not really a huge rush to sign these lads…has anyone ever seen these lads play regularly?

Why Clark? Bcoz he is cheap dosent mean anything to me has a shade of the Titus Shamble about Him. Brilliant and idioitic at the same time. FFS we just got rid of Coco the Clown. Shane Duffy, Paddy McNair or Richard Keogh are no brainers compared to Clark hope im wrong and rafa can sort him out. The biggest loser in all this is KEVIN MBABU if ever a time to blood him its this season. Really dont think rafa has seen enough of him to make an informed decision on his future he has the making of a top top player.
