Newcastle Close To Getting Two Players In

Rafa Benitez wants one new player brought in and the loan deal of Brendan Galloway – the 20 year-old Zimbabwe born Everton left-back – completed before this coming Saturday.

If Brendan Galloway does come to Newcastle on a loan deal, it says that Rafa Benitez thinks he needs competition for Paul Dummett and Sadio Haidara, our only two specialized left-backs,  who also have poor injury records.

But it also means that Rafa believes Brendan will play quite a number of games for Newcastle next season – he could be first choice at left-back – otherwise what’s the use of Everton sending him out on loan?

Brendan Galloway – coming in on loan

The news is that Newcastle are working on a loan fee for the exciting young talent, but want him part of the squad before Saturday’s game against Huddersfield Town.

Newcastle will also pay Brendan’s wages while he is with Newcastle next season.

The other news is that Real Madrid have withdrawn their interest in Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko and there is still a chance that Moussa will not get his move to his dream club this summer.

It’s a move that he has been working on since the Euro 2016 Championships ended on July 10th with France losing to Portugal in the final.

It may be that Moussa will be playing in England’s second division for the coming season with a massive fee of £35M put on his head by Newcastle.

We’ll have to wait and see whether he gets his move and that may be until the final day of the transfer window on August 31st before we find out.

Why don’t they ask Carr to step down i.e. retire? He’s the right age to walk away. Let Rafa bring in a head scout. We’ve had a shocking number of failures over the last 5 years or so. I made a list that I posted on here of some of the complete flops we’ve had in over recent seasons. It just isn’t acceptable if we want to succeed.

Sissoko’s list of dream clubs is fast diminishing and it’ll not be long before he’s dreaming of the big wheels of WBA, Palace, Sunderland, Carlisle, York, Gateshead and if he’s really lucky, Sunderland.

He’s at risk of becoming the season’s laughing stock.

Tiote, Sissoko, Galloway and a big mobile target man with a decent goalscoring record to compete with Mitro, or throw on alongside him to batter defences ala Shola and Carroll. That’ll do Rafa, and then we just get on with it, with a big, fast, powerful, skillful, experienced, deep and balanced group to call on.

Yet another of Sissoko’s dream clubs has no interest.

If he’s really lucky, he might get his dream move to one of the really big clubs – WBA, Palace, York, Carlisle, Gateshead, Tow Law or even Sunderland.

He’s fast becoming the season’s laughing stock.

Has YouTube been our major recruiting tool over the last 9 years? After all Mike reckons it’s the cheapest way to see good players.

Sorry for the apparent repeat post. It’s a combination of this Micky Mouse Nokia Sissoko phone and the Blog site. The former I’d guess.

Either Carr’s judgement’s gone belly up or the then so called board have picked from his list of suggested signings.

Let’s not think of retiring him off yet, he’s got connections that Rafa can make use of.

Moussaka McSisko better stoke up the Dream-O-Tron 3000 and get a few more ‘boyhood clubs’ feigning interest or he’ll be warming up for Rotherham away after all.

Unfortunately it’s hard to judge Carr as we don’t know if the likes of riviere were top of his list or bottom of his list. The penny pinching over the to years no doubt had him dropping down the target list

We still a proper out and out winger with place to compliment Ritchie. We only have one and at a push Aarons (with huge potential) who really hasn’t impressed much. If any of them two get injured we’re done for as an example of how light we are there. We should go for a winger to be first choice and Aarons as back up. Even then we’re still a winger short for cover.

On the striker front we’re are very lightweight and need a powerful and quick striker ASAP.

I asked a question on previous thread but go no answer from those wanting ings!! Has he fully recovered from his injury? He was out for an entire season injured much like Jay Rodriguez and everytime the latter makes a comeback he breaks down.

We’ve risked enough with injured players or those struggling to regain form from long term injuries, look at SDJ. I’d hazard a guess and say ings will continue to pick up niggling injuries which won’t do us any favours

If Saviet and Tiote leave,, perhaps sign back Mehdi Abeid or Olivier Kemen to replace them and move Shelvey in to the no 10 role. I think that SDJ when fit could be useful for this league. I think Perez is a striker and he needs the ball to be played in to his feet as well as chances created for him not just lumping long balls to him.
But im keen on an arma and mitro partnership and maybe buying someone more experienced to help Mitro as well as providing foil for Gayle

Not to many powerful and quick strikers around, the forest lad is quick and powerful I believe but can’t think of many others that would be interested in joining us.

I think the issue isn’t upfront but the lack of creativity behind the strikers, Ritchie will deliver good crosses and shelvey is a lazy sod who makes poor decisions, the rest aren’t creative including our fullbacks who can’t cross.

I think 2 creative players and a winger with a LB will be enough, expecting big things from Diame though and he could effectively play out wide

I don’t think ings will get a look in at Liverpool, firmino will be first choice to play false 9 alternating with Mané, Sturridge and origi to be backups

Ings hasn’t featured much from memory in preseason and even SDJ managed to stay injury free for most of the time during pre season…..the worry is we have 2 games a week, will ings stand up to that after having 10 months out injured? I don’t think he will, he’ll break down and become and expansive risk…..much like many others before him especially during Shepherd reign

Our Toon- Maybe Rafa can find one from abroad using his contacts or from his well documented shortlist of players. But I agree, creativity is our biggest problem. We look lost in midfield upto the final third. Wingers provide so much width an options but we need some from the middle too ala Cabaye. Rafa has to act fast though as we need them intergrated with the squad asap to boost our promotion chances.

Yeah I don’t think ings would come to us and I don’t think he’d have the fitness to prove to be a success.

We need creativity, we create so little and this shows weekly especially last season and in Friday we looked clueless, it seems as though the only plan was hit it over the top and hope Gayle gets know the end of it.

Then you look at that midfield that started and it’s no surprise we struggled, Gayle and Ritchie have a good goal return, the vastly overrated Perez is yet to hit double figures in a season and scores less than a goal in every 6 games, if not worse.

Forresteri and Knockaert are the 2 we should be going all out for as goals from midfield will be crucial as well as creativity. Gnabry and browing also on loan with them 2 would be a very good summer of trading

My take on Rafa’s signings, thus far
Sels – What’s the point?. Krul and Elliot will become available at some stage and Darlow and Woodman are in situ. From what I’ve seen he looks decidedly unreliable.
Hanley – Big and burly, looks well-suited to a mid-level Championship club. Best paired with a mobile, flexible CB, which is exactly what Lascelles isn’t. Oh well.
Clark – Think Steven Taylor, Mike Wiliamson – and then lower your gaze. Welcome Ciaran Clark. You arrive with the blessing of the Aston unwashed, I can assure you.
Matt Ritchie – A very good player. Bit lightweight though
Dwight Gayle – A fair player. Bit lightweight though.
Isaac Hayden – Replaced by Wenger at negligible cost with an identical although younger and obviously better player with great haste as soon as he was out the door. Curious, as he did make the bench regularly at the mighty Hull City last season.
Mohammed Diame – Played a dozen or so good matches at West Ham over two seasons. And apart from that…well, he’s nearly 30, so he has

Agree with most of your assessments above. I think Sels was signed because Krul will go, more than likely in January as he is in the last year of his contract and has probably indicated he will not renew. I feel Darlow should play instead of Sels.

Hankey and Clark are not top notch but they are well worth stand in defenders as is Gamez. I feel he was signed because Janmaat eas probably going but has since changed his mind.

I thought Hayden gave the ball away a lot at Fulham slthough he wasnt the worst by a long chalk. He will be useful.

Ritchie was quality. I thought he should have scored though. He will do well.

Gayle needs a partner. He reminds me of Bellamy and needs to work off Mitrovic much in the same way Bellamy bounced off Shearer. In order to be successful, we need two quslity providers in midfield….one wide with pace, the other centrally positioned who can string a pass and play with guile.

In my opinion, we should sign Olivr Burke from Forest, a 19 year old tricky fast right winger who can make and score goals and Will Hughes from Derby who is young talented and already premiership quality in my opinion
