It seems that Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote still wants to leave Newcastle this summer and he is said to asked his agent to look for potential clubs he could move to.
The 52 times capped Ivory Coast international had a move set up to move to Abu Dhabi side Al Jazira club, but that proposed deal was summarily rejected by the Magpies who are determined this summer to get very good prices for players they will allow to leave the club.
Cheick Tiote – trying to find a club to move to
There are local reports that Cheick is looking for some options to leave Newcastle, but time is starting to run-out and Rafa Benitez wants to know before the end of August what the makeup of his first team squad will be.
Cheick was signed from FC Twente in August six years ago for a modest 3.5M.
He has played for Newcastle 153 times with one stupendous goal against Arsenal in February of 2011 when we came back from 4-0 down after 26 minutes with four goals in the last 26 minutes to draw 4-4.
Cheick’s goal was the equalizer coming after 89 minutes and hit brilliantly on the volley by Cheick.
After that goal, captain Kevin Nolan then hit the ball which grazed the outside of the upright for what could have been a sensational winner.
There could still be quite a number of Newcastle players leave the club this month, with Cheick being one of them and Moussa Sissoko’s future also needs to be sorted out and sooner rather than later.
Note: The initiative “It’s Not Just Black and White” was partly inspired by the recent sad paparazzi photos of Paul Gascoigne, and a number of supporters have banded together to draw attention to the complexities of mental health and alcoholism – their action line is “It’s not just black and white”.
The group is not asking for donations but is simply keen to raise awareness of the problem through their web-site here.
