Midfielder Pressing To Leave Newcastle This Month

It seems that Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote still wants to leave Newcastle this summer and he is said to asked his agent to look for potential clubs he could move to.

The 52 times capped Ivory Coast international had a move set up to move to Abu Dhabi side Al Jazira club, but that proposed deal was summarily rejected by the Magpies who are determined this summer to get very good prices for players they will allow to leave the club.

Cheick Tiote – trying to find a club to move to

There are local reports that Cheick is looking for some options to leave Newcastle, but time is starting to run-out and Rafa Benitez wants to know before the end of August what the makeup of his first team squad will be.

Cheick was signed from FC Twente in August six years ago for a modest 3.5M.

He has played for Newcastle 153 times with one stupendous goal against Arsenal in February of 2011 when we came back from 4-0 down after 26 minutes with four goals in the last 26 minutes to draw 4-4.

Cheick’s goal was the equalizer coming after 89 minutes and hit brilliantly on the volley by Cheick.

After that goal, captain Kevin Nolan then hit the ball which grazed the outside of the upright for what could have been a sensational winner.

There could still be quite a number of Newcastle players leave the club this month, with Cheick being one of them and Moussa Sissoko’s future also needs to be sorted out and sooner rather than later.

Note: The initiative “It’s Not Just Black and White” was partly inspired by the recent sad paparazzi photos of Paul Gascoigne, and a number of supporters have banded together to draw attention to the complexities of mental health and alcoholism – their action line is “It’s not just black and white”.

The group is not asking for donations but is simply keen to raise awareness of the problem through their web-site here.

I would take what we can for him. He doesn’t feature in Rafa’s plans.

Move them out if not needed

If he doesnt want to be here, then let him go. He hasnt been the lad with the workrate of 2 players for a while now.

I like Aaron’s in the team but I’d never start the lad ahead of the options we have at the minute. It’s important to have a holding player and Diame doing that role would be an absolute waste. Aaron’s since showing a lot of promise in his first season, he’s shown absolutely nothing since other than how to rot on the treatment table.

For me as I said on previous thread it’s got to be:

    Hayden, Shelvey
    Ritchie, Diame, Sissoko

Mbemba replacing Hanley at the back.

In all honesty I’d put tiote in ahead of Hayden but Rafa won’t start Tiote

I can see your point re Diame but I haven’t seen enough of him to know exactly what type of player he is.

I think Aarons could be a surprise this season if he stays fit and gets his confidence back.

But Tiote for me is well past his best, I just think he is prone to ‘stupidness’ giving away daft fouls or caught in possession.

But that’s just my opinion fella.

    Cheers for the craic

I have been called worse !

To be fair Lorenzo Insigne’s agent Antonio Ottaniano has a bit of previous in the bullshit stakes.
He was waffling on about Arsenal’s interest in him last January.
If we got the Italian and young Galloway we have a left flank to scare any opposition shitless.
Then with Janmaat and Ritchie on the right and Diame steaming through the middle –
    my god

    just my god !!!!!!

I think all players are prone to mistakes, Tiote is the most physical of DM’s we have, still an international and still a good player as he showed at the back end of last season.

Aaron’s is a good talent, changed the game against palace and had a very good game against citeh in the cup but other than that he’s done nothing but pull up with cramp! Hopefully he kicks on now with a new deal behind him

Diame is a powerful midfielder who can play many roles in midfield, has a very good shot and is physically strong.

Aaron’s would be good when mitro comes back as he’ll get on the end of crosses but with Gayle I think Aaron’s would be ineffective, especially considering the midfield got out battled and out muscled on Friday!!

Tiptoe is an odd one. We appear to need him, and Rafa had him back to his best at the end of last season. He surely would be a monster in the Championship. I’m struggling to understand why he appears to be unwanted.

Left side looking good. I reckon galloway and Arrons coukd cause serious damage. I also recall haidira and Arrons linked up well whenever they played together which was rare mind you.

Galloway, if he does get forward well will be a big asset. It’s not enough just to feed your winger, you need to link up well and be able to go past him from time to time.

Yea, going up, whether by hook or by crook is all that matters. Being in the Championship is a load of fuggen rubbish. No bright side.

I know Sissoko has not given great interviews but however bad he has behaved, our number 1 goal is to get promoted and having him in a midfield with Diame has got to be frightening for pretty much all of the other Championship teams.

It would be tasty to watch even if it is just for this saturday’s home game.

Whether Sissoko stays or goes – we still need a CM (in the 2) to pair alongside Hayden/Tiote – someone in the Cabaye mould and a striker and a LW.
