Poll – Should Newcastle Play Moussa Sissoko In August?

News today that Moussa Sissoko is ready to join the Newcastle first team squad in training now that his fitness is up to speed having now trained for about 10 days on his own.

There are indications that Rafa Benitez now wants to play him in Newcastle’s side while he is still at the club.

There’s still a chance that no club comes in with a £35M bid for him but with John Stones  moving to Manchester City for a ridiculous £47.5M and Yannick Bolasie likely to join Everton for something like £30M, Newcastle will hold out for £35M for their French International midfielder – who was one of the stars of Euro 2016 in the knock-out rounds.

Of course there are risks in playing him at Newcastle, since if he’s injured no deal will be possible in August.

The other problem Rafa may have with playing Moussa is that he is not exactly a fan favorite of Geordie fans at the moment with the comments he has made since the Euro final on July 10th.

His comments have been tilted towards trying to get a move away from Newcastle to a dream club which over the past few weeks has been Arsenal, Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester United.

Take your pick.

Some of his comments also seem to have disrespected the club who are paying his wages at the moment.

Note: The initiative “It’s Not Just Black and White” was partly inspired by the recent sad paparazzi photos of Paul Gascoigne, and a number of supporters have banded together to draw attention to the complexities of mental health and alcoholism – their action line is “It’s not just black and white”.

The group is not asking for donations but is simply keen to raise awareness of the problem through their web-site here.

I not only want Sissoko in, but also Tiote, Mitro, Mbemba, Diame and Galloway ASAP. That’s the sort of physicality and quality we badly missed at Fulham and need to finish top two.

Spot on jimmysmith. Play our best players until they are no longer ours.

How did Wolfsberg handle Draxler asking to leave? Fined him and played him. That’s how it works. We pay his wages, we play him in our matches.

This league is unforgiving, we need our fastest, strongest, best players on the pitch.

I wouldn’t play him in the game on saturday being our first game and all. He could ruin the good vibe and brilliant atmosphere. But he being one of our best players I would play him in the other games.

when has sissoko shown he is our best player??

has he ever played the same for us as he has for france

all sissoko deserves is left to rot in the reserves
i dont mind his ambition to play for a top team but you have to be professional and work hard
    he has done neither
    bloke is a parasite

In rafa I trust but I’m hoping for a more offensive team selection this weekend. Sels in goas. A back line of janmaat lascalles mbemba galloway is tasty looking. In midfield in comes Arrons on the left. Ritchie on right with Diame hayden perez in middle. Gayle up front which means hayden drops to bench for me. He’s had a good preseason so his time will come. Anita needs to get more consistent

Sissoko ? For me, one home game and one away game. If he turns up for both, then play him till we sell him.

Sissoko will just get booed and rightly so. Why on earth would we play him and create a negative atmosphere, he won’t be here for the season so we need to start finding a formula that works without the twat. Let him train by himself until we mug his dream club

Rafa should play him as what is more important points or transfer money ?

The club has stated that it has money to spend. It doesn’t need the money from any Sissoko deal in order to buy one or more players.

The club needs to get in winning ways and put points on the board and if Rafa thinks that Sissoko will enhance that possibility then yes he has to play.

If he plays, will he be more of a help than a hindrance? That’s what Rafa has to weigh up, I suppose.

yes , we need the points . i dont care how we get them but we must play our strongest 11.

It’s a pity Sissoko dosent want to be here, if he was in the right state of mind i would put him in the centre of our attacking three, with Ritchie on the right and diame on the left.

    Diame Sissoko Ritchie

With Perez, Gayle, Mitrovic and a new centre forward to pick from up front, that’s an awesome attacking side, that would scare most premier teams never mind championship.

I’d play him for the simple fact that hes so determined to leave that he’ll bust a gut to get noticed and try and get some bids going…

If fans boo Sissoko then they are booing the decision of their manager and giving heart to our opponents.

Rafa has already stated that he rates him as a player and a man, as well handing him the captaincy last year and moved him into the central area where he was much improved.

I’d be surprised if Rafa didn’t play him whilst he’s still here.

It’s a no brainer, whilst he’s here we play him, if no one comes in for him are we going to let him rot in the reserves.

The most important thing is points and playing our strongest side, he won’t be fully fit but will be better than Anita. Those that have an issue with him constantly wanting out should accept that we are not the type of club we used to be pre Ashley.

Does anyone understand us loaning out Mbabu and bringing in the young lad from Everton ??
Personally would have thought we have enough pennies to go and splash out for a left back we have been craving for the years

The midfield could look very tasty for the home game, sissoko and Diame along with Ritchie. Hayden holding with shelvey next to him…..looks very good and physical on paper.

    Hayden, Shelvey
    Ritchie, Diame, Sissoko

I’d drop Perez, Colback and Anita. Hanley should be dropped from defence and mbemba bought in

Is it because Galloway is a left back and Mbabu is a right back ?

We have good cover on the right back position but little cover on the left ?

Could have sworn he played a blinder against Chelski at left back buddy. Looks a far better prospect than the hapless Dummett
