The Telegraph is reporting that Newcastle United are interested in signing Anderlecht striker Idrissa Sylla, according to a report.
The 25 year-old only joined Anderlecht from French club Le Mans last summer and seemed to have a mediocre first season in terms of goal-scoring – he scored only 9 goals.

He is often referred to as “Waddle” because his style is very similar to that of former Newcastle and England great Chris Waddle, who played on the wing.
Sylla came through the Le Mans Academy before he left for Belgium club Zulte Waregem in 2013.
He was born in Guinea and Rafa Benitez is trying to sign another striker before the transfer window closes on August 31st.
We seem to be in the same position as last year at this time and lack enough proven goalscorer in the squad.
Newcastle seem to be enquiring about a number of strikers and are expected to sign at least one before August 31st but which one it will be we don’t know.
Last season Sylla scored only 9 goals in 39 appearances for Anderlecht so he is hardly a prolific goalscorer.
Anderlecht came in third in the Belgian Pro League last season behind Gent and Champions Club Brugge.
While at Zulte Waregem he made 63 appearances with 18 goals and he has played 14 times for Guinea with a couple of goals and made his International debut versus Cameroon in May 2012.
Looking at his stats he doesn’t seem like he scores too many goals.
