Newcastle Defender – It’s Up To Us Now

3:12 pm, Friday, August 12th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 4 Comments

There’s a very good interview with Daryl Janmaat who seems to have accepted he is going nowhere this summer and wants to stick in and help Newcastle do really well this season in the Championship and get immediately promoted.

We must say we have been impressed with Daryl’s attitude in his last few interviews and this one is not difference.

Daryl Janmaat – Newcastle’s left-back

Daryl have ben interviewed on nufcTV for the game tomorrow against Huddersfield and the Dutchman basically says it’s up to Newcastle to get the 3 points:

This is what Daryl told nufcTV when he was filmed at the Benton training ground:

“The first game at Fulham, we knew it was supposed to be a tough game and it was.”

“We were not at our best level and so we have to come back and do better if we want to get results in this league.”

“Everybody sees –  this is a tough league.”

“I don’t think any wake-up call  was needed, I think everybody had a good feeling and felt ready – but now we have to make sure that we kick back now and get 3 points on Saturday.”

“Yes, it’s always like that – if you have a defeat then you want to turn that around as soon as possible.”

“Now we have 3 games in a week and we have to make sure we get three good performances and 3 wins if possible.”

“I think we have to look to ourselves and we know that if we are really good, we have a good team, and we can beat everybody – we are probably one of the best teams in the league.”

“But we have to make sure we’re good and everybody has to be ready and we can beat them and get 3 points.”

“It’s a big boost to have St James Park sold out, but we have to make it a good afternoon with 3 points.”

We need to start winning games – and a good time to start is tomorrow against the Terriers.

Comments welcome.

Potentially a midfield that had Sissoko , Diame, Shelvey, Tiote and Richie on the pitch at the same time should be in the top 10 in the premiership never mind in the league below!!!

Just a shame we probably wont ever see that combination

    Hibbit

I didn’t say you had to ask for my permission, you seem to have a lot of anger mate and insinuate a lot. As for the disrespect you speak of, he’s paid to play for the club, it’s a job to him. Why would anyone who has no affinity want to play for this club or be loyal to this club?

He wants to play at a higher level and we can’t offer him that, why be bitter about his whoring?

You avoided the question I asked though and I answered yours so I’ll ask again. Will you boo him if he plays well and scores? Or will you cheer his goal if he scores? Simple question

I have no issues with anyone wanting out, he didn’t do a townsend and say 1 thing then do the complete opposite did he?
