Moussa Sissoko picked up an ankle injury yesterday and therefore will not be involved in tomorrow night’s home game against Reading and new signing Mohamed Diame has also picked up an injury playing against Huddersfield and will also not play tomorrow night.

Rafa has also admitted today there have been recent enquiries made about Moussa Sissoko, who has been unsettled at Newcastle and has been talking about joining a big club who play in the Champions League for at least a couple of years.

Moussa Sissoko – clubs have made enquiries

We reported this morning that both Everton and Inter-Milan are two clubs reported by French daily L’Equipe who are now interested in signing the player.

It’s a bit hectic at the moment with Newcastle likely still to lose some players and news today that Rafa wants to bring in four more new players into the squad.

This is what Rafa has said about the transfer situation:

“We know every transfer window is like this. We have experience and we know these things can happen and we have to deal with the situation.”

“It’s not ideal, it’s not perfect but we know we have some clubs asking about Sissoko, some clubs asking about some players, and we are talking about different players.”

“We have to wait a little bit. There are 15 days until the transfer deadline and after that everything will be settled down and it will be easier for us.”

“Sissoko knows the situation and he is training well, but he got a knock on his ankle yesterday, so he was not training today.”

“In terms of his mentality, he is just a professional, training and waiting for news like everyone here. But he will not be involved because he was not training.”

Newcastle must start to get some wins on the board and it’s an excellent time to do that against Reading tomorrow night, although after the first two games Newcastle fans are not all that confident of the win.
