What People Told Diame About Newcastle United

1:35 pm, Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 16 Comments

Newcastle United’s Mohamed Diame talked to people who had played at Newcastle and they told him  just to go there – because the club is massive, even through we are in the second division at the moment.

And while big Mo plays in a similar way to Moussa Sissoko and is of the same build, he has said he is not a replacement for Moussa.

Mo was a great signing for us and he adds both power and creativity to the midfield and he can also score goals.

As we said a great signing.

Mohamed Diame after signing for Newcastle

He had a fairly quiet debut on Saturday against Huddersfield, but he picked up a knock on his ankle and will not be playing tonight against Reading at home.

This is what Diame has said in the Chronicle today:

“I am not here to replace anybody, I am here to give my best and get the club back to the Premier League,”

“My aim is to make the fans happy but to do that I need to be fit. If I a fit, like I say, I’ll be flying and nobody will stop me if I do that.”

“Everybody knows Newcastle. I know the issues here as well and I know Senegalese players who have been here.”

“We all know the stories about Alan Shearer and what he did at the club.”  “I have played with players who have been here too.”

“Charles N’Zogbia told me things and Habib Beye too. They have been here at this massive club.”

“When I spoke to a few people before making my decision they said it was a massive club even though they aren’t in the Championship.”

“I know that we will back to the Premier League and they said just go there.”

Good words there from  Mo.

Jaap Stam is the new manager of Reading and we hope we can pick up our first points of the campaign tonight with a win.

That will help raise the spirits significantly on Tyneside.

Comments welcome.

“Aaagghhh the weight of this shirt is really causing my ankle some problens..”

So let me get this right – Mr Pardew isn’t quite as average as he used to be? Just the other day he wasn’t good but he wasn’t bad either. Is he no longer average now as well? This is baffling.

Oh dear. Insomnia had a word with him did he? And he still signed? He must have a screw loose. As well as the one in his leg that is.

At least he didn’t end up with his foot in his mouth like Moussa. Terrible business that.

Diame didn’t come here to replace anyone, then. Oh.

Just you and me again then Belfast. Seems like old times, before Ian turned your head. We were a good turn, back in the day. 🙂

Speaking of tinfoil, there’s still some bacofoil left in the cupboard, I wonder if Munster needs a hat?

According to Sky Sports no bids or enquiries for Sissoko. It’s probably starting to dawn on the bloke that his agent is a lying toe rag. 🙂
