The following policies should be taken into consideration before commenting:
An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #41Charlie @18 – I agree 4 – 1 flattered us but we were the better team. We dominated them for the first 35 minutes then faded for the last 10 minutes of the first half when they got their equaliser. Second half was more equal but we more clinical – once we got to 3 – 1 Rafa went defensive – 5 at the back then eventually Colback for Gouffran. I like Gouffran but thought while he worked hard he never beat or got in front of his man. I also was not convinced by Clark – gave away the penalty and hoofed a lot of balls forward.

Comment #43Although the scoreline may have been a bit flattering there were a lot of positives to take from the game, Gayle scoring two which is now 3 in three games which is a good start for him, Hayden seems to be decent, Anita who I really dislike in midfield as he is too negative played quite well as a defender, better than Janmaat, which doesn’t take much doing, I’d rather have had Gamez play but credit where it’s due Anita doesn’t let us down when played at right back, but the biggest positive by a mile was Rafa, against Huddersfield we only selected two out and out attacking players in Aarons and Gayle, which was dreadful, but against Reading we had Ritchie, Gayle, Gouffran and Perez so even though it may not have been a great performance at least Rafa gave us some attacking options and with Hayden getting forward as well which was an added bonus I have to say that I feel a bit better now than what I have done so far this season, I just hope that he continues to play at least four out and out attacking players, and I also hope that if he persists on playing Anita then it is at right back.

Comment #45Clarke is awful I think lascelles will come back to form he showed at the end of last season and take that other spot (not seen much of Hanley to judge though).
Gouffran was getting ripped by the commentators who said he touched the ball twice in the second half. They said well there another manager who has seen what he does on training ground does not count for in games.

Comment #46A win is a win gents, if we won 4-1 without playing well then i hate to think what
the scores going to be when when we are on form, Stam moaned our 2nd goal changed the match claiming it was a soft penalty, seconds later they should have had one but didnt, well Stam shit happens, we should have had a penalty against Fulham then they scored right on half time, don’t care what anyone says, we won, got the goals and its about time we had some frigging luck.

Comment #49The last time we were in the championship we got outplayed by a lot by teams but still ran out winning games by a few goals we just had more clinical finishers than the other teams which is what we had last night
13 days till the window closes can we get all the players we need in ? Busy few weeks

Comment #50All this “Result flattered us” talk is pointless. You don’t win 4-1 by accident. It means we clearly got the attack right at least, and only letting one in (a penalty) means we mostly got the defence right. Posession isnt everything (unless you are barca) and teams that get big score line often have lower posession stats at the end of the game, because A) we do something with it as soon as we get it and B) the other team want to hold on to the ball more, because they are getting thumped, but just end up passing it around in neutral areas.

I wasn’t aware that there were any Hayden haters, I must of missed that, what were the reasons given for having a go at him !

I did see one or two comments saying he should be dropped, but not many. Not really any hate either. I think him and Ritchie ar our best signings so far.

When I’ve got time i will look at the comments from the game, same old rubbish when players don’t play well.

Comment #56Matt Ritchie has been brilliant from day one, still can’t believe we’ve got him, it’s a pity Townsends not here, i know he didn’t want to stay but he if we had him on the left wing and Ritchie on the right, that would have scared all the full backs in the championship.

Yeah i see what you mean. Some people can’t wait to have a pop. I was pretty negative after the first two defeats, but I didnt put it down to the players or manager, more because of the current culture of failure at the entire club. We need a few more big wins to flush all that away.

I haven’t seen much but from what I have seen I would tend to agree with you, Ritchie looks a real goodun to me and Hayden looks as if he could hold his own in the anchor role which is what you want from an anchor man, I have to say that I’m disappointed with the fan reaction to Gayle, the first two games we were so negative that a service to him just wasn’t there, last night was the first time Rafa’s tactic’s game him a chance, and as it stands he has currently scored three in three and had one disallowed, for me he has had a good start to his Newcastle career, just a shame that he isn’t getting the recognition that he deserves, at the end of the day if we don’t give him a service he will never score.

Comment #59people will have to show some patience with the cb’s,
when hanley played it was his first game, with little pre-season with the other players but was doubted straight away,
lascelles its start of the season, made captain,so more pressure will take a little time to adjust to that,
clark, first game in a changed side, thats already under pressure coz they’ve lost 2 games most people thought they would win…
mbemba is the only one who’s done himself justice but surprise… he’s the only one not much has changed for…not been made captain, not moved,….at least give them the chance get there feet under the table before dragging them over the coals….they may fail but to early to be tearing strips off them.

We will be fine, Rafa needs to sort out what he thinks is our best 11 and formation, was watching Sky Sports News all evening and Tony Gale was covering the match and I’m sure he said we were playing 442, i think that’s why Gayle had a good game, I’ve said it all along, we need to play 2 up front, should be Mitrovic and someone else. Don’t think 42321is working.

I didn’t blame the players for the first two games either, but I did blame the manager as for me he was far too conservative and he didn’t play with enough attacking players, last night he did so fingers crossed he will continue in this vein and if so then after a few more games and hopefully a few more points on board then the confidence may kick in, I just hope that he doesn’t revert to a more defensive selection an Saturday as the chances are Bristol City will possibly play the game as if it is an away game and try to hit us on the break, we have to continue as we did last night and pick a side which tries to break down defensive teams.

I think that 4-2-3-2-1 formation you mentioned would work, but I doubt the ref would allow us to play with 13 players lol.

Comment #64At the game last night, here’s my thoughts.
My merit marks
Sels 4 – So far I don’t rate him. Even when he saves the ball he pushes back into the danger zone.
Dummett 5– Skipper for the day. Average performance.
Clark – 4 – Didn’t win many headers and gave away a pen with a clumsy tackle.
Mbemba – 7– Did well and looked quite solid.
Anita – 6 – Did well, his best position at RB for sure.
Shelley 8 – Always looks for a forward pass. Set up so many attacks with inventive passes, also he puts in a good tackle.
Ritchie 9 – Man of the Match. Outstanding player to watch. Great skill and energy and commitment.
Hayden 8 – Scored and got forward well, also good in the tackle. I think he will get better and better.
Goufran 5 – Not sure why he played, but did okay.
Perez 4 – Poor touch, lacks strength. He also seems to have no pace now. Needs to toughen up. I think Armstrong can do better.
Gayle 8- worked his socks off scored a great free kick and poached a goal late on. That’s 3 for him, all in the same net.
We played better as a team tonight and hunted them down in packs. We had less possession but that was because we were more direct which I like. Didn’t spend 5 mins passing it around at the back. We switched play well and used the ball over the top. Once Mitro is back it will be interesting to see what Rafa does. I personally would like to see Mitro and Gayle up top with Ritchie on one side and Aarons on the other. That would give Championship defences nightmares.
