Who Was Your Man Of The Match For Newcastle?

5:38 pm, Saturday, August 20th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 25 Comments

We really needed the win today at Bristol City against a good looking home side in what was a pulsating game in front of the biggest crowd at Ashton Gate for 26 years..

A goal from Dwight Gayle after 20 minutes – his fourth of the season – did the trick for Newcastle in the 1-0 win.

He’s a player Alan Pardew didn’t seem to rate at Crystal Palace but the new number 9 has been great for  us so far.

Bristol has most of the possession in the game, but Newcastle showed they are becoming a well drilled side and Bristol couldn’t carve out too many chances.

  • 2 Ketsbaia9 // Aug 20, 2016 at 5:41 PM

Will be gutted if we lost Janmaat and Krul. Even Tiote should be retained and played ahead of the useless Jack Colback. At least Dummett was dropped today. Simply not good enough.

Gayle should be looking at getting 45+ goals this season.

The guy which was running the fastest and the one who was trying the most.

If I would’ve watched the game, I would’ve known who that is.

Kets – are you an idiot? You make a disgusting comment and then completely ignore everyone slating you for it. Are you planning on apologising for it? Admitting you made a major mistake?

And by the way, the more you go on about ‘having lasses on the go’ the more I’m beginning to think you’re a virgin who hasn’t seen a woman’s private parts since the day you were born.

mid week it’s the ELC (league cup) this year I’d say we just scrap the cups and totally focus on promotion. I can’t imagine us being able to go all the way to the final and go on to win it and it’s money is nothing in comparison to that of premier league money. Fighting for promotion comes the aim of winning as many games as you can and the more tiring or injured players we get the harder it will be to get promoted.

Good result today, yes it was only 1 goal and Bristiol City played much better in the 2nd half but you are going to get that in the championship, sometimes it’s about grinding results out plus this will be good experience for players that’s never played In this league.

was at the game today, and thought we looked very strong in central defence and midfield (even colback played well). diame and gayle looked good in the first half but faded in the second.

I’m worried about perez- he doesn’t look fit enough for this league.

and, is anyone else not entirely convinced by Selz? I hope Krul and Elliot go ahead of him when fit

I this was the crystal palace blog for a second.

If janmaat does go, do we need another right back Anita, Gamez, Sterry and Mbabu can ask play there and Mbemba if needed.

Sels I’m not sure but it might just be a case of letting him settle in.
