France Football are reporting that Inter-Milan are getting close to signing Newcastle’s French International midfielder Moussa Sissoko and are now ready to bid €35M for the 27 year-old, which is about £31M.
Moussa Sissoko’s reps have been in negotiations with Inter over the last few days for the powerful midfielder who wants to leave Newcastle – and it seems that a deal may be very close.
The report is that terms have finally been agreed between Inter and the player and the next step is to formally bid for the player.
Moussa Sissoko – not happy at Newcastle
Inter-Milan’s first choice was Sporting Lisbon’s Joao Mario who was priced at €45M by the Portuguese club.
That’s about £40M so it makes Moussa’s price look fairly cheap.
France Football are saying that Inter have moved in for Sissoko and may have finally given up on trying to sign Joao Mario for a whopping €45M.
The 44 times capped French International has been pushing for a move from Newcastle this summer, but he would have preferred to remain in the Premier League, but it seems no English club is interested in him at the £35M fee Newcastle are asking.
If the fee Inter are willing to pay is €35M (£31M), we would be surprised if Newcastle don’t accept the deal and allow the player to join Frank de Boer in Italy.
Moussa has been a pain and sometimes an embarrassment to the Newcastle club over the last two years, and he could finally be leaving Tyneside.
We saw yesterday that we already have a ready-made replacement at the club in 29 year-old Mohamed Diame.
Diame is much like Sissoko in his approach and the powerful runs he can put in, but he has more of an end product than Moussa has.
Yes, he’s probably a better player and certainly more consistent.
