We were afraid this could happen and it seems Brendan Galloway’s loan deal to Newcastle will not happen as the Chronicle chief reporter Lee Ryder has said Everton have pulled the plug on the deal.
Brendan Galloway – not coming

It’s strange that I was just talking with my son Neil yesterday and he mentioned the loan deal may not happen with Everton keep delaying the deal and not being able to sign defenders.
That’s a pity because Galloway would have added some class at the back for us.
But on the other hand it was a straight loan deal, so maybe Newcastle will now try to bring in a left-back on a permanent basis to challenge Paul Dummett.
Left back was a weakness last season and when Rafa arrived in March we didn’t have a fit specialist left-back available with both Dummett and Haidara injured.
Ciaran Clark can play there and it seems he was decent enough on Saturday in Newcastle’s very good defensive display in the 1-0 win at Bristol.
Massadio Haidara is also finally back from his long-term knee injury too.
But it’s important Newcastle get another left-back in because both Paul Dummett and Sadio Haidara tend to pick up injuries during a season.
Rafa still has a lot of work to do to get players in and move players out in the next 9 days; it looks like it’s going to be hectic.
Update – the late news is that Galloway will go to West Brom in the Premier League.
It looks like Newcastle wanted an option to buy in the loan deal; Brendan has gone on a season long loan to West Brom with no option to buy – the loan has just been announced.
