Report – Everton Have Called Off Galloway Loan Deal

We were afraid this could happen and it seems Brendan Galloway’s loan deal to Newcastle will not happen as the Chronicle chief reporter Lee Ryder has said Everton have pulled the plug on the deal.

Brendan-Galloway

Brendan Galloway – not coming

It’s strange that I was just talking with my son Neil yesterday and he mentioned the loan deal may not happen with Everton keep delaying the deal and not being able to sign defenders.

That’s a pity because Galloway would have added some class at the back for us.

But on the other hand it was a straight  loan deal, so maybe Newcastle will now try to bring in a left-back on a permanent basis to challenge Paul Dummett.

Left back was a weakness last season and when Rafa arrived in March we didn’t have a fit specialist left-back available with both Dummett and Haidara injured.

Ciaran Clark can play there and it seems he was decent enough on Saturday in Newcastle’s very good defensive display in the 1-0 win at Bristol.

Massadio Haidara is also finally back from his long-term knee injury too.

But it’s important Newcastle get another left-back in because both Paul Dummett and Sadio Haidara tend to pick up injuries during a season.

Rafa still has a lot of work to do to get players in and move players out in the next 9 days; it looks like it’s going to be hectic.

Update – the late news is that Galloway will go to West Brom in the Premier League.

It looks like Newcastle wanted an option to buy in the loan deal; Brendan has gone on a season long loan to West Brom with no option to buy – the loan has just been announced.

Sign Haller ASAP, get rid of Sissy and get Galloway and Knockaert in!

Hardly a surprise this news. Re last blog why is Diame not fit? Did he not have pre-season with Hull before his transfer?

Diamé got caught up in the Bruce fiasco
Hull’s presason consisted of playing a few local Yorkshire sides
Having said that – Hull currently sit in a CL position 😀

Seems I missed a bit of a Kets inspired sh1t storm while I was away this weekend.

I am a little p1ssed off at everton for messing us about on this deal. Lets hope we pick up a decent lb elswhere, and another winger (with creativity). We might be ok till january for a striker. Time is short, lets get the two essentials first.

Siem de Jong is having medical at psv.
If he were fit,he would have done a good job in the championship.Sadly, nothing was happening for him in here and sent packing.
Haven’t fussed about Galloway in the mean time. He is not a finished article that u can feel confident and say he will do a job at lb.He is a young fella coming to learn. Why not go for Jose Enrique if he is still free agent?

There are surely a few fair excuses as to why a player is not match fit. Diame is fit enough to play, if he wasn’t it would show in his trainibg sessions. Very few players turn up on day one of pre season fully maych fit, and all sorts of things can hinder a player getting there.

Haidara has been training for about 10 days with seemingly no adverse reaction.

Could be a factor and we could have pulled the plug. Still would prefer a new specialist LB.

According to reports he has passed his medical (god knows how) and will be unveiled as a PSV player later today.

Veltman @ 8, Jose Enrique has made 22 appearances in 3 years due to injury. I suspect nobody has signed him as he is knackered mate.

Maybe his medical was just simply walking up a couple of stairs into the signing room 😀

    Jose enrique?
We would be scraping the barrel!
He’s stole a living the last few years at Liverpool having barely played. I watched him in a cup game and he got tortured off a lower league possibly non league team.
I would rather bring a kid in from the academy than him. In fact I’d take yedlin for 4 million as a last resort rather than enrique.

Although you are right, and 10 days seems a long time, it can soon catch up on a club who have been messed around on a previous deal. I do still trust rafa, but i would like to see movement sooner rather than later.

Jib @5 – That’s my point the rest of the Hull team seem to be fit enough so why isn’t Diame?

Another Charnley blunder, quite obviously. The only deals he can finalise are the ones that seem to disadvantage NUFC. What a total waste of space.

Martoon – that is not entirely accurate as Hull have played their two opening matches with only 13 fit senior players.

Shame this deal hasn’t gone through but it has seemed dead in the water for more than a week. Hopefully Rafa has back up plans and enough time. I’m not too confident.

As soon as Bruce left Diamé said he wanted to leave – so Assem Allam instructed Mick Phelan to isolate him from their squad.
