Tottenham Poised To Make Exchange Deal For Moussa Sissoko

The Mirror is reporting that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will try to use 21 year-old Nabil Bentaleb in a part-exchange deal for Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko.

Bentaleb joined Tottenham in 2012 from Dunkerque when he was just 17 and over the last four years has played 66 times with one goal for Spurs.

However this could all come to nothing since the French newspaper L’Equipe are reporting a loan deal with German club Schalke 04 has already been agreed for Bentaleb.

Nabil-Bentaleb

21 year-old Spurs midfielder Nabil Bentaleb

Since the Lille-born Frenchman is not in Mauricio Pochettino’s first team squad he has been training with the U-21 side this season.

One problem Rafa could face with a player exchange deal is what Tottenham would rate Bentaleb at in terms of a transfer fee.

It may be better to get a straight cash deal either with Inter-Milan or Liverpool, who were reported to be interested in Sissoko today.

What Tottenham seem to be doing is going for  part exhale deal to drive down the price of Moussa Sissoko – and we’re not sure Newcastle would like to deal again with Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy, who is tough and stubborn negotiator.

Levy tends to rate his Spurs players extremely highly in the transfer market and the news is his valuation of Bentaleb is at £15M – so that wouldn’t be a good deal for Newcastle.

It really would depend on how highly Rafa Benitez rates the Algerian Intentional, but it may be better to hold tight and see if Inter-Milan or Liverpool or some other club are willing to pay £35M in cool cash for the 27 year-old French International.

If they are not, then Moussa Sissoko will stay at Newcastle for this season.

Tell levy to shove it. 15m? Cloud cuckoo price as always from that tight arse. Anyway, i’d rather keep him than let spurs have him cheap.

Never really seen him play. Anyone know what kind of player he is? (Without quickly googling him).

I’m delighted Janmaat’s going. I wouldn’t take him if he was free. And that rousing the crowd shite. Give me a break. He could rouse the crowd quite easily if he did something worthy on the pitch. He wins a corner and thinks he’s an all conquering hero. £7.5m. We’re having their eyes out.

Seat 5. Next to a big wide bloke and his son who was in a wheelchair. I moved to 4 or 3 so I could sit one row behind to get a bit of elevation. The son started bashing his dad and his dad started to give it back.

I can see myself on Sky. I’m behind Diame swinging the ball in. The rare time Newcastle got in their half in the first 45. The boy’s in black and white in tge wheelchair and I’m one row behind in blue t shirt with white on end of sleeves.

Janmaat is/was real class. Shone in a woeful team two years running, including one very deserved player of the season award. Gutsy too, contrary to the witless mob accusors ready to run their next scapegoat out of town, and will shine again in a technical team that has lots of the ball and probes in the final third.

Spin away though boys, spin away.

I’ll keep my eye open. Right now though, i’m away to me bed. At least the injuries aren’t as bad as they could’ve been. Seems like Gayle and Mitrovic were just playing it safe. Poor Aarons looked broken when he passed us, i hope his isn’t as bad as it looked.

Aarons is useless IMO. He’ll never make a top player. Wrong mentality. Not enough talent. Always injured. New and improved 5 year contract.

Janmaat will go the same way as Habib Beye. Mark my words. He won’t get a place in a decent team. I can understand armchair fans rating him but not anyone who sees his game regularly. How he got player of the year, I’ll never know.

Wouldn’t say he’s useless, but his injuries will hold him back. If he ever gets a run of games we might see the best of him, but it’s keeping him fit for that run that’s the problem. He’s got the talent, just not the body it seems to me.

My prediction that Gayle will get at least twice as many goals as Mitro looks good value. Gayle has impressed me so far. Mitro was poor again, although he did look a bit slimmer and faster.

Aarons couldn’t get behind a league 2 full back. He’ll go the same way as Vukic, Bigi and all the many others. I see Mbabu hasn’t impressed Rafa enough.

It’s Rafa who’s selling him. Rafa appears far from convinced. He will be ordering the taxi personally at that price.

We’ve barely started the season. Plenty of time for Aarons and Perez etc. to establish themselves. People had all but written Gayle off 10 days ago. Now he’s the main man. It borders on comical.

Have you had a bump on the heed? Perez has had years. Not good enough. Had a half decent game against league 2 oppo after he miscontrolled and got a bump on the heed. Of course, he reminded us of his usual game when he blazed a great opportunity high and wide.

Who was the last player to leave with the fans blessing is a better question? In fact only player to leave with the fans’ blessing? Townsend. Andros – couldn’t wait to activate his deserter clause and press his claim for an England place at PALACE- Townsend. Cisse, Colo, et al who had stuck around for years picking up pieces in crap under-invested in sides got barely a nod of recognition.

Simpson, Williamson, Shola, Jonas, Taylor, Obertan were all meant to be holding us back. Turns out they weren’t. Unless you think relegation was the goal all along of course.

Amazed and a bit sad to see supporters writing off players like Perez. Especially after scoring a brace. Yes he’s inconsistent but it’s in all our interests to give him a chance to improve. Have you got one of the cheap seats with an obstructed view b&b?

It’ll take mitro at least 5 games to get match fitness mate, we’re you expecting fireworks from him after missing 4 games?

On janmaat I agree, the bloke is a coward, getting sent off on purpose because montero was giving him a roasting, punching a wall to show he cares someone said on previous thread, if he cared he’d learn to defend and cross. The lad was and is a big waste of space…..good riddance.

Aaron’s crock, wasted a 5yr contract on him!!

Benteleb yes please, very good young midfielder with quality on the ball and decent tackler, 15m plus him permanently is a good deal for us and I’d take it

Good squad players who took the brunt of fan frustrations at lack of overall investment. Results were nearly always better with those players in the team. The 11 game unbeaten run – our last good run in fact – featured Obertan as starter. Easier to look past the annoying stats that don’t support your argument i suppose. Especially when you’ve made the placard and everything.

4 games missed. 5 games to get up to speed. It’s not as if he’s been injured.

If it had only been tonight I was judging Mitro on, fair enough. But it isn’t. He played tonight like he’s played throughout.

Janmaat’s ‘getting sent off’ is a classic case of emergent norm syndrome.

Totally unfounded flights of fancy becoming immutable folklore amongst a group of people with too much time on their hands and too little data..

Fans get frustrated at the owners, managers and those players who regularly frustrate them with their poor performances. They tell it how it is. Except the many fans like you who won’t have a bad word said against any player because he plays in black and white. All of us want our players to succeed but some don’t measure up. Does every player measure up to you? If not, who doesn’t? Or are they all good players?

So janmaat didn’t bottle it and pulled montero back in Swansea’s half for what reason? Wasn’t any danger, can you come up with a rational explanation

Blackley – yes missed 4 games and take 5 to get up to speed, it Neville and Carragger were saying it takes plays 4 or 5 games to get match fitness after a full preseason. Mitro had a preseason but he’s missed the last 4 games. I’ll take the word of experienced pros that have played the game over old blackley on this one…..sorry mate
