Rafa Comments On Game, New Players And Moussa Sissoko

Rafa Benitez has just finished his press conference and he bemoaned the loss of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dwight Gayle for tomorrow’s game against Brighton because with their concussions on Tuesday night they are not allowed to play tomorrow with the new rules introduced by the FA.

But those are the rules that are meant to protect the players’ health – and while Rafa thinks it will be a tough game against a good side in Chris Hughton’s Brighton – he still thinks we can win the game.

Rafa Benitez – at the press conference

This is some of what Rafa said in his press conference this afternoon:

“After the game both Gayle and Mitrovic were fine but the English rules say they cannot play.” “They want to but they can’t.”

“We have to manage the situation without them.” “It will be tough because Brighton & Hove Albion are a good side, but we have confidence.”

“It will be tough but can we beat them? Yes.”

“We still want two or three players.” “We have time, names and targets. It is not easy. We are trying very hard, but it depends”

“We needed one winger and now we have to analyze the situation carefully since Rolando’s injury.“

“We knew Watford wanted Janmaat. Yedlin was the perfect fit because he has pace and can attack and he was pleased to come.”

Rafa also said it’s the same situation with Moussa Sissoko as it was before and he is not in the squad for the Brighton game.

A win tomorrow would be great and the fans will be upbeat over the two week International break after what would be four wins in a row

A defeat would probably cause the opposite reaction with Newcastle losing three of the first five league games.

It’s always feast or famine at Newcastle.

Not many fans think we will this game.

    Blackley and Brownlie

What I am saying overall is give them some time and let’s see how they progress this season.

Atleast with rafa rotation policy, recruitment done and recruitment to come that they will not have the full responsibility on their shoulder like last year where there was no other option than to play them regardless if they were struggling or not.

I wonder if we might see Sammy as a shock addition on the bench like when goofy came back and did a job for us.

Sammy hasn’t got a squad number yet so reckon wed need about 30 injuries before he comes in?
Surely be Gouff wide with perez uptop and diame behind?

Let’s have Gouffran up front as lone striker and see what he’s made of in the game on Saturday.

Winbar still a bit optimistic given that a draw is about as much as we can hope for given our striking options.

well I think it’s time for Arma to shine, We have a good team, Arma and Perez can and do score goals, we are at home, so I think it’s not as bad as that poll would suggest.

looking forward to giving big Chris a heroes welcome. I never wanted him, but he converted me with building a team from nothing with nothing, and always was a class act win lose or draw.
