Osasuna have just announced they will be taking Manu Riviere on loan for the season.

Translation – OFFICIAL STATEMENT – Riviere will play on loan

And Newcastle have just announced Jamie Sterry will join Coventry City on loan through early January – this was expected.

Newcastle United full back Jamie Sterry has joined League One side Coventry City on loan.

Sterry will stay at the Ricoh Arena until Tuesday, 3rd January 2017.

The 20-year-old made his first start for the Magpies in last week’s 2-0 EFL Cup victory over Cheltenham Town at St. James’ Park.

Sterry also put pen to paper on a new four-year contract with United last week, as did fellow Academy product Adam Armstrong – who scored 20 goals while on loan at Coventry last season.

And Sterry – who will team up with ex-Magpie Gael Bigirimana in the Sky Blues’ ranks – could now make his debut for Tony Mowbray’s men in their League One clash at Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

That’s a good deal for Jamie and he will gets a lot of first team games at the Sky Blues.

This means that 18 Newcastle players have either left permanently or on loan this summer.

Comments welcome.

  • 2 jazzyp // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:09 AM

Why would we get less in January. Is he not on a long contract.
For 20 mill your giving away Sissoko, And we have no need to do so.

Sincerely hope that this is the last we hear from him.

your post from the last thread.

Why should we sell him for £16m to Spurs when they sold Mason to Hull for £13m yesterday.

what’s the point in keeping an unhappy player.
At best is he going to reproduce his 1 good game in 10 from the PL in the championship? Highly unlikely. Sissoko has wanted out forever. let him go. 20M would be great.

    Sissoko leaving training camp…..

Expect McManaman on hus way north soon then

  • 10 Spoof // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:15 AM

Hopefully both Everton and Palace will also make bids so we get an auction going for him.

Mind if he does go to Spurs how will there fans react to him seeing as he had his heart set on Arsenal, it could be fun.

would be brilliant if Sissoko did a Peter Odemwingie. rocked up at White Hart Lane all ready to sign when no deal has been agreed. left to sit outside in his car as the dealine creeps nearer,

    Good luck to Manu.
He is a good footballer but just does’nt fit in to uniteds style of play.
Min £25m for Sissoko and the sooner the better, no hanging about till Jan.

  • 13 Mr Funk // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:19 AM

I wouldn’t accept anything less than £25m for Sissoko.

I would then go for Lazar Markovic on loan with view to buy – not too keen on McManaman.

    Here’s hoping

Good point mate. I have no problem in Sissoko leaving but surely for only the right price.

Cant belive newcastle going to cave in to Tottenham after what they did with townsend sissoko is on his way to england now so we sell on the last days again so rafa has know say on keeping a player we dont have to sell what a load of crap ash say who stays and goes rafa wake up and smell the coffe

  • 16 9 // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:21 AM

Ed: “.and he will leave for nothing”: sounds fair value to me.

  • 17 kakaobi // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:21 AM

Isn’t it nice going into transfer deadline day with no worries don’t need to buy or sell couldn’t really give a cr@p what happens to Sissoko

  • 18 9 // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:23 AM

RUNAWAY: “cave in” to Tottenham??? Cave in?? Sell a player who hates being at NUFC and nobody, but nobody else, has any interest in signing?? Are you sure, mate?

  • 19 WWSBRD // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:25 AM

Going to be a long day isn’t it. CM deal seems to be off Caulken seemed to think last night so hopefully Atsu and someone else in

Sissoko deal will run but I will be disappointed if he goes for a knock down price no matter the explanation Rafa said late bids would be rejected

  • 20 Spoof // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:26 AM

How can anyone possibly blame Ashley for Sissoko leaving, very strange !!!!!!!!

  • 21 stuart no9 // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:26 AM

    stuart no9 // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:24 AM

Imagine if he stays , we’ll be his dream club . Ha what about that lads ????

  • 22 SPRINGY // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:27 AM

i expect it will be a lump of cash down rising to something, that way it saves face to all involved….doubt it will be 35m though.

  • 23 jazzyp // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:28 AM

    Soccer Sauce ?@soccer_sauce ·

Southampton hoping to have Sébastien Haller on the south coast this afternoon to complete move to the club. #SAINTSFC

Looks like Rafa’s pep talk didn’t pay off

  • 24 Spoof // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:28 AM

now that would be funny, I really would laugh my t–s off if that happened ?

  • 25 RUNAWAY777 // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:30 AM

9 i mean how Tottenham held out for the money for townsend why should we sell cheap cause its tottenham bro

  • 26 9 // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:38 AM

Hi RUNWAY @ 25. I’m worried about this notion of “selling cheap”. Nobody anywhere has offered anything for him, except Spurs; anything we can get for a man who can’t stand being at the NUFC is good money, not “selling cheap”, Consider the alternatives……………..oops, there aren’t any!

  • 27 Budge123 // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:39 AM

    We won’t be selling cheap.
35m 30m whatever was either paper talk or greed.
20 -25m is a fair price for him in the market.

The squad is settled. The money from Le Sulk can be spent in January if required or added to Summer warchest.

    The worst

  • 28 Budge123 // Aug 31, 2016 at 9:41 AM

The worse case is he stays
