There are reports now coming in from France that Chelsea have entered the race to sign Moussa Sissoko of Newcastle.
L’Équipe are now reporting the Blues are in talks with his agent and since Moussa is on his way to London to meet with Tottenham, he could always meet with Chelsea officials if a deal can be agreed between Chelsea and Newcastle.
Moussa Sissoko – agent in talks with Chelsea
The report is that Tottenham went as high as £25M for Sissoko, but Newcastle stood firm on their minimum £30M valuation of the 27 year-old French winger.
The fact that Chelsea have entered the race presumably means they would be willing to pay Newcastle’s fee of £30M (or higher?) for Moussa and certainly Chelsea are a Champions League club – but not for this season.
À Londres, Moussa Sissoko discute avec… Chelsea ! https://t.co/Ib9P1X3MRR

Translation.
“London, Moussa Sissoko is in discussions with Chelsea!”
This will be good news for Sissoko because both Spurs and Chelsea will be fighting it out for a top four place in the Premier League this season and Moussa wants to stay in England.
And maybe this could be the start of an auction for Moussa today.
🙂

Comment #12I would love it, love it … if no club comes in for the over-priced Berahino.
Do we see similarities between West Brom/Berahino and Newcastle/Sissoko? Over-priced. No takers. Pet lip.

Comment #20Finally Atsu there you are! Where you been hiding?
Good to have you on board now for another winger jejeje I’m a bit greedy considering we’ve already signed 12! Lol
Onto this Sisulko nonsense I really can’t wait to see the back of him. What a tool he has been all this time moaning on about a mve. How unprofessional. If we get £30m for him I will be laughing my head off. Would love for the twats to fall into that trap be Spurs as I can’t stand them one bit. They always think they are the bees knees and that their players are all worth north of £10m. So no if you fools want Sissy here pay the cash or FCUK OFF!!!

Comment #23I think the reality is that Sissoko has the ability and potential. I reckon a ton of clubs would be interested to have him as an impact player and figured they could force our hand by leaving it so late.
I say well done Mike (for once) lets not let Spurs et al kick us while we’re down. We scouted him, signed him, got him into the French squad now pay up (I reckon we’ll deal at £25m which i would be happy with in the context of this years rates.
He’ll probably work his socks off at a club like Spurs, he’ll be a fringe player that occasionally does something important.
I know Spurs fans are not happy with the link though.

100% agree.
Spurs rinse clubs on their deals. Lets play hard ball. I’d take £20-25m from Chelsea, £30m from Spurs.
I think he should leave but if he stays and has to play for a move over the next 6 months in the Championship then we could benefit. He’s have to get his spot back off Diame though

Comment #33Wonder if we’re in talks with anyone over an incoming after McManaman fell through? Theres a few fringe players at PL clubs that will need to move today, Markovic was mentioned a few days ago.
I’d be quite happy if the window shuts and we stick, sissoko and tiote included. Both would be huge players if Rafa can get them playing.

Comment #36So if we could keep Sissoko and Tiote and they have to play well for a move in January that would still be a decent bit of business…. although would be more than happy if the 2 of them had to leave!!
Wish we had just signed another winger and a central midfielder like Hendrick

Comment #40I’d not be at all surprised if Sissoko stayed. I read comments on a Spuds site and it’s clear that they are fully aware of his consistency and attitude problems. Canny lot tbh.
What a total cock-up he’s made of it all. If he’d stayed schtum and got on with training and playing he’d probably have had a decent offer by now, instead of having to choose between his burned bridge and ones he’d rather not cross.
