Photo – Christian Atsu Signing For Newcastle

3:19 pm, Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 61 Comments

Here’s a photo that’s doing the rounds at the moment – Christian Atsu signing on for Newcastle United in the Boardroom.

What’s holding up the announcement?

Oh yes – getting £30M for Moussa Sissoko – I almost forgot – there’s only a given number of things Lee Charnley can do at once.

I like the way they have composed the picture to include the network cable and the fire extinguisher. Classy.

  • 7 one fine day // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:46 PM

    Budge
Not as classy as his tee shirt…pretty sure it’s drug lord Pablo Escobar on the front 🙂

  • 8 jayphoto // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:48 PM

N’dong is decent! He’s not worth 17m decent mind… and I’m pretty sure he’s going to be at the African nations. Hes got a lot of energy, very Kante esque but probably slightly stronger but less stamina. He won’t score many or assist many and they’ve probably over paid by a good 8-10m but he is a decent player

  • 9 Sazzer // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:50 PM

Tiote is also linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid =)

  • 10 Tsunki // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:50 PM

I think they just got the lad to unplug the sub woofer before signing.

  • 11 nufc 11 // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:52 PM

Take it Atsu is a fan of Narcos is that EL Pablo on his t shirt?

  • 12 Sazzer // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:52 PM

Wolves have signed Ivan Cavaleiro from Monaco.

  • 13 Tsunki // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:52 PM

They like to dress up nice for these occasions dont they? Are they in the shop?

  • 14 Tsunki // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:54 PM

They didn’t like his other t-shirt, the one with a row of headless bodies hanging from a motorway bridge.

  • 15 bettyswallocks // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:55 PM

I hope if Sissoko does stay that he doesn’t assume he will be able to worm his way back into favour with the fans. He’d be an idiot to think that.

  • 16 Ibizatoon // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:57 PM

Tbf…Narcos season 1 was top notch.

I might go see when the new season starts…

  • 18 jayphoto // Aug 31, 2016 at 3:59 PM

aye bettyswollacks we all know all it’ll take is one or 2 surging runs and a couple of good performances and the stands will be singing his name again.

Looks like Lord lucan on the tshirt to me but I guess your should with Pablo is more likely!

West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United have finally come to an agreement over the loan transfer of Callum McManaman. The Baggies winger looks set to join ?Championship side Newcastle on loan for the rest of the season.

McManaman had been linked with Newcastle for the majority of the summer and it was believed he could be used in a deal to bring Sissoko the other way. With the deal for McManaman being a loan deal, it looks very unlikely that West Brom will now go in for the French International Sissoko. Former FA Cup winner McManaman found himself on the fringes at West Brom last season only making 12 appearances for the club in all competitions after joining from Wigan 18 months ago.

McManaman would be Albion’s second outgoing loan of the day after Sebastien Pocognoli joined Championship side Brighton.

    Who’s going to tell Haidara?

  • 25 Tsunki // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:15 PM

No Betty, more like a snake.

  • 26 Tsunki // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:17 PM

Haidara won’t be fit enough to play at the same time as him anyway. Even in training. They’ll probably never meet.

  • 27 Jail for Ashley // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:19 PM

    Munster,
Will you still blame Rafa for Sissoko if he stays and plays out of his skin and we gain promotion.

  • 28 Rafa Revolution // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:19 PM

I hope we pull a surprise deal out of the hat

  • 29 firebug666 // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:21 PM

    Ron

I think they will be fine with each other mate, it will be the fans McM will have to win over.

  • 30 Rafa Revolution // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:24 PM

a cricketer doing the transfer news on sky that’s unusal

  • 31 ToonRich // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:24 PM

Rafa Rev, who’d you like as the rabbit out the hat??

  • 32 firebug666 // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:25 PM

I think Sissoko is going to be still a Newcastle player tomorrow, he will not be happy, but maybe a reality check is what he needs.

Still; with Sulkie in our reserves we may win one of those games under Beardo, then again!

  • 33 Rafa Revolution // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:26 PM

ToonRich I dunno but someone who we haven’t been linked to, I think a major surprise signing would be brilliant

  • 34 Rafa Revolution // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:27 PM

Mourinho and Wenger are in Switzerland with Rafa, wonder if one of those two want to buy Sissulko? haha 🙂

  • 35 Belfast // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:28 PM

I still can’t believe Chelsea are re-signing sideshow Bob haha

  • 36 Ron Knee // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:29 PM

#thfc – via Sky Sports – are now saying they will not pay the £30million for Sissoko leaving #efc with a clear run at the #nufc man

  • 37 Sazzer // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:32 PM

France coach Didier Deschamps confirms Moussa Sissoko is currently in London.

  • 38 Rafa Revolution // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:33 PM

Do you think Sissoko’s attitude is turning people off?

  • 39 Tsunki // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:39 PM

Attitude? What do you mean, attitude? Sorry you’ve lost me….

  • 40 Mr Funk // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:39 PM

I would prefer Markovic over McManaman – I hope we are waiting to get an offer for Sissoko and then go for Markovic

  • 41 Sazzer // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:40 PM

    Brentford have signed Rico Henry.

  • 42 SUTTY1978 // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:45 PM

Wonder if Carver is in Nyon with the rest of the Elite Managers? He was the best manager in the premier league ya knar.

  • 43 firebug666 // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:49 PM

    SUTTY1978

He would have to be there mate, I mean his name must have been first on the list.

  • 44 Shadow_Shearer // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:49 PM

Imagine we bring in morrison, astu & mcmanaman. With the team we already have, we are guaranteed to win the championship.

Mind you i wouldn’t be sure of morrison & mcmanaman attitude. I wouldn’t mind they two as a loan deal. Get rid of them when we get promoted & bring in players of there quality with better attitude.

  • 45 mindshaft // Aug 31, 2016 at 4:54 PM

Deschamps has confirmed to the media that Sissoko is in London to sort out his future .. guess it’s a short helicopter ride to Everton / Liverpool / West Brom / Palace / Spurs / Arsenal or any of his other supported since a lad clubs

  • 46 Sazzer // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:03 PM

    Keith Downie ?@SkySports_Keith
Everton are in talks with Newcastle to sign Moussa Sissoko.

  • 47 SUTTY1978 // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:07 PM

Mindshaft, reminds me of Robbie Keane, every club he signed for was his boyhood club!

  • 48 Rafa Revolution // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:07 PM

    Everton in talks wahey

  • 49 Sazzer // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:08 PM

Nothing new really from Downie there but yeah talks underway.

  • 50 Shadow_Shearer // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:09 PM

Where ever sissoko goes, it will be similar to pardew situation.
Palace loved him at first & heavily criticise our fans. Now there starting to see he’s a crap manager who thinks to much of himself.
With sissoko they will love him cause he will say this is the club I dreamed of playing as a little boy, soon they will see he doesn’t try when there losing & he thinks to much of himself.

  • 51 SUTTY1978 // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:09 PM

Firebug, I dont think Carver was invited, I think he called the conference along with Joe Kinnear so they could pass on their knowledge to the lesser manager like Wenger, Rafa and Mourinho.
got to give these lads a leg up somehow havent you?

  • 52 jazzyp // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:09 PM

    Sazzer

    How much mate ??
    Another cracking prospect missed

Loving this headline from the “Preferred Partner”.

Moussa Sissoko’s deadline day leaves Newcastle fans in hysterics: “He’s gone full Odemwingie!”

  • 55 SUTTY1978 // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:11 PM

Everton in Talks, dont think that will take long….

    Everton: How much for Sissoko?
    Charnley: £30m on the nose
Everton F**k that, how about 5 bob?
    Charnley: No dice

  • 56 Sazzer // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:12 PM

    jazz
Fee £1.5m potentially rising to £5million with add ons

  • 57 lesh // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:12 PM

Wonder if Sissoko’s still at the airport and waiting for the ok to fly to the uk?

If that is the case, whoever’s in charge of negotiations at our end’s really playing a hard game. If it’s Charnley, he’s doing well to squeeze as much out of potential buyers as he can.

It makes a change to being bumed.

  • 58 Sazzer // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:15 PM

    lesh
See my post at 37. He’s in London.

  • 59 lochinvar // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:19 PM

If he who shouldn’t be named is in London then he’s pushing it to get to Merseyside to sign for non European Everton. Helicopter job if that’s the case.
They have new mega rich owners who want to build a new stadium.
    So money no object .
£35k off Everton and £35k off the bin dippers for Caroll.
That’s the way to do it.

  • 60 lochinvar // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:24 PM

    Mindshaft @45
Even shorter helicopter ride if Palace come calling.
He could even catch the bus .

  • 61 lochinvar // Aug 31, 2016 at 5:26 PM

Might be that he just ends up catching the Newcastle flight home ! That would hurt his ego .
