Reports Newcastle Play Hard Ball With Spurs – £30M for Sissoko

10:29 am, Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 48 Comments

The news is still coming in after Moussa Sissoko was given permission to leave the France training camp this morning to close a deal with Spurs there is now news coming though on what the deal is for Newcastle.

Moussa would not have been given permission to leave unless Newcastle and Spurs were very close to a real deal for the Frenchman.

Spurs bid a measly £16M last night and they came in with an increased bid of close to £20M this morning – according to reports.

moussa sissoko

Moussa Sissoko – reports Newcastle will get £30M for this player

But now the Shields Gazette and other outlets are reporting Newcastle want £30M for the French International and that fee is non-negotiable.

It seems Newcastle and Spurs are working on a payment scheme for Spurs that could be £30M in five separate payments.

It would be a terrific deal if Newcastle could get £30M for Sissoko – we were worried earlier that we had caved in for much less than that – but that may not be the case.

It’s a fluid situation, but we hope Miles Starforth is right.

Comment welcome.

I’m sure he will go. Someone, somewhere, thinks that’s a bargain in today’s market. 🙂

the one piece of independent news that seems to to true is that he has left the french training camp so some deal must be happening !!

    Repost with extra

I would be ok with tiote staying. He has had failed moves before, and just come back and got his head down for us.

  • 4 ilovetoon8788 // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:34 AM

I just can’t wait for this useless fool to leave our club!!

  • 5 Mag52 // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:35 AM

I used to have quite a high regard for Pochettino.
Not so sure about that now.

  • 6 Rotonda heights // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:36 AM

that’s the one thing I am clinging to.

I know what you mean re – Tiote, but I have heard (”allegedly”) he isn’t great for team spirit and is equally desperate to get away, but is just not as vocal as Sissoko.

  • 7 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:37 AM

Its not poch, its spurs. They are a fcuking horrible club.

  • 8 WWSBRD // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:38 AM

He probably left incase a deal is done today not because one is happening now

  • 9 Belfast // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:39 AM

Good point Wwsbrd was thinking the same.

  • 10 Belfast // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:42 AM

I would prefer cash plus a player at this stage of proceedings to be honest.

  • 11 Ron Knee // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:42 AM

He’ll look a proper Charlie if he has to go back to the training camp without a deal done!

  • 12 WWSBRD // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:44 AM

Tbh the most attractive deal I can think of at this point is Everton 10-15 mill plus McCarthy but I dont see that happening

  • 13 Jail for Ashley // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:45 AM

It will be very interesting to see the crowds reaction when he comes on against Derby if he’s still here by then.

  • 14 SPRINGY // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:46 AM

In two minds about sissoko….want him gone just coz im sick of hearing about it….but at the same time want good money for him, dont see why we should not get somewhere near the money we want ,as we always get rung out for every penny when we are trying to sign someone.

  • 15 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:47 AM

Re tiote. Yeah I have hear that, too, in the past. Seems a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde person, both on and off the pitch.

Anybody here think Daniel Levy is a mug?

    Thought not.

There is no way £35m or £30m or anything like that is coming out of his wallet, up front, in instalments, or on the never-never for our lad. Just NO WAY.

  • 18 WWSBRD // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:52 AM

Then Sissoko shouldnt be allowed to go to Spurs mate

  • 19 Blofal // Aug 31, 2016 at 10:59 AM

If he is still with us by the end of the day its his own fault.

If he had kept his mouth shit about moving the whole time he wouldn’t have to face the vitriol from the fans when he inevitably has no choice but to play for us again.

  • 20 2_goal_tino // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:04 AM

I wonder at what stage today everyone here and fans of other clubs will start looking at the free agent list …. get ready for people calling for Hal Robson-Kanu to be signed.

  • 21 Neil // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:04 AM

Honestly I think the price of Sissoko should go up by every passing hour. Rafa said, “If a club thinks they can come in on 30th/31st for him then they’re sadly mistaken” or words to that effect – We should just say to him/his agent sorry but it’s too late. I think he’s a joke right now. How would he explain to the Spuds fans that he dreamed of Arsenal (And every other team he’s been linked with) only a few weeks ago but now is signing for their biggest rivals #mug

  • 22 robertsleftfoot // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:04 AM

it isnt any surprise Tiote wants away, he has got kids all over newcastle which will be costing him a fortune until he moves abroad never to return

  • 23 Novocastrian66 // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:05 AM

Sissoko will be sitting in M ASH 1. Waiting to whisked away to whatever poor unsuspecting club can be convinced to part with £30m plus. Good riddance.

  • 24 hibbit // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:06 AM

one false move and the fans will be on his back
most hated player i have ever seen play in b&w
best for all parties if he leaves today
if only he had kept his gob shut

  • 25 nut meg // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:07 AM

Isco will not be joining spurs.. from SSN, maybe good news involving Sissoko then.

  • 26 2_goal_tino // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:09 AM

Just went on a Spuds forum, they are praying for this deal not to happen. They don’t rate him, don’t see where he would fit in their team and believe anything over 15m is too much (which is slightly ridiculous given the 13m they just got for Mason). They are clinging to the hope that the stories saying it is actually Everton he is going to are true.

  • 27 Ron Knee // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:16 AM

“And a fourth player has now left Newcastle United this morning, with midfielder Alex Gilliead, 20, joining Luton Town on loan until January.”

  • 28 Hail Wor Ashley // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:18 AM

Bet Charnley holds a quiet resentment for Rafa, coming in making him work for his wages with all these deals, who does he think he is?

  • 29 geordie157 // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:20 AM

Sissoko will end up staying, no one will pay 30 mill for him.

  • 30 Sazzer // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:23 AM

    Sissoko right now:

  • 31 Average_Contents // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:23 AM

Awww. Poor sisulko doesn’t know what to do.

I know, do an odemwengie and rock up to PSG in the hope of a move because let’s face it, you couldn’t lok like any more of a cnut no matter what you did.

    Fcuking snake.

Moussa Sissoko is currently in Paris waiting to see if Newcastle allow him to leave today. He has been given permission to leave the France squad.

Newcastle will not accept anything less than £30m. If no club is willing to pay £30m, Sissoko will stay and play in the Championship.

  • 32 Bambams // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:25 AM

I would of happily taken £16 million for him…..He had a couple of good games in the Euros and to be fair he played 5 or 6 games for us.

£30 million would be fraud !!!!

  • 33 Average_Contents // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:25 AM

Brightened up my day that mate lol.

Whoever done it is a legend haha

  • 34 jazzyp // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:25 AM

    Craig Hope
Meanwhile, Cheick Tiote is expected to hold talks with the physios of several clubs in the Far East….

  • 44 Laurent Robert 32 // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:45 AM

YouCouldn’t, as I said the other night, I’d absolutely have a shot at Ravel Morrison. Not much too lose as he’d just be moved on, but the upside could be mega.

Well worth a watch. Only was uploaded last week.

I saw Danny Simpson say something about him noticing a change in him when he’d been to a club. I think it’s good that he’s gone over to Lazio, as I think more British players should try it. I certainly would have.

Little downside, huge upside. I’d have him.

  • 47 bettyswallocks // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:46 AM

Tsunki……Hail wor Ashley claims you’re an idiot. I for one won’t be commenting on his comment or getting involved in any way with a discussion on this topic.

  • 48 YouCouldn'tMakeItUp // Aug 31, 2016 at 11:59 AM

I have watched half of that. What a player. If he could fix his head (rafa might be able to do that) then great. He’s got everything. He couldnkick start his career again with us.
