9:43 am, Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 10 Comments

Who would have thought this summer’s transfer list would be so long?

With the announcement of Jamie Sterry on loan to Coventry City through January and Emmanuel Riviere on a season long loan to Osasuna, that’s now 18 players who have left the club this summer either permanently or on loan.

Four have been released when their contracts ended – and a massive eight players have so far been sent out on loan.

£10m plus for Hendrick, £13m for Mason, £24m for Marcos Alonso. #nufc within rights to demand £30m plus for Sissoko.

Aye but people don’t like Sissoko so his value has to drop no? That’s how player value works isn’t it?

Alonso for 24mill, possibly David Luiz returning, so more Chelsea madness!

Don’t mind tiote staying, sissoko we should accept no less than 30mill for. leaves ameobi and vuckic to shift, maybe good too.

Contrary to popular belief, we have carried an enormous squad of players for the last couple of seasons. A casual glance at any match day program always showed our squads to be far larger than any of the opposition. It was mainly brought about by having dead wood and not loaning out younger players.

At the same time we had little real viable competition for places. It looks as though this summer the club have pulled off the trick of trimming numbers and introducing real competition for nearly each matchday shirt.

Let’s see how it pans out.

When you consider Bolasie went for 28 mill we have to expect insane amounts being paid out by football clubs.
Makes me think where will we stand amongst the big boys of the PL if we were to go back up at the end of this season
