Rafa’s Inspiring Words About The New Newcastle United

There is a definite feel-good factor going on Tyneside, as fans realize it’s now similar to when Sir Bobby Robson and Kevin Keegan were the managers at the club – and both men knew exactly what they had to do to make Newcastle great again.

Rafa Benitez is the same and he has such a pedigree in the game of football that we are now seeing why he has had so much success in his illustrious career as a manager.

rafa benitez smiling

Rafa Benitez – Newcastle manager

He is transforming the club and in one transfer window has completely transformed the squad and brought in 12 new players and let 21 players leave.

We now have a strong squad that looks balanced and very capable – for the first time in many years.

And Rafa has said no longer will Newcastle be a stepping stone for players who want to get to “bigger” clubs:

“We are only interested in bringing players to Newcastle who want to work hard for the club and the team.”

“Not players who want to be at another club maybe next year or the year after.”

“We are not a stepping stone, we are Newcastle United.”

“Every player should be honored to wear the shirt of this club.”

“They should feel the same passion that the fans feel.”

“Then you have a great relationship between the players and the supporters in the stadium”

Rafa instills a winning mentality in his players and in the fans too.

In fact talking about winning – I’ve been working hard on a new song to go with all those great flags we see at St. James’ Park – well during the few times they are live on TV this season.

I’ve got the words finished – that’s the hard part – now I’m just looking for the right tune.

The words are:

“Win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win. win, win, win, win, win.”

“Win, win, win, win,win win, win, win,  win, win, win, win, win, win, win.”

What do you think?

🙂

Things are looking good right now, but we have to keep our feet firmly on the ground and try to win every single game.

Newcastle are likely to get some criticism from different quarters this season – you get that when you are successful.

You get even more of it when you are really successful.

Bring it on!

Howay The Lads.

But the daily star said that our pride and passion comes in instalments, if we dont score 20 goals per month, we might not get our full quota of pride and/or passion.

There will be a shortfall still in order for us to break even, despite parachute payments and drastically cutting the wage bill. My best estimate would be £5-10m of that profit will be needed to make it up.

Let’s say £25m profit, hopefully Riviere, SDJ, Krul and Thauvin are all successful out on loan and they make permanent moves, that will bring in £20-£25 next summer.

So, if this team can haul themselves to the top of the league come January, we hopefully won’t feel it necessary to spend.

I imagine in that scenario we’ll have a £50-60m budget next summer before any sales barring those loanees mentioned who won’t be contributing this season anyway.

Crucial we get promoted this season or else it becomes tougher and tougher to climb out. That kind of income from sales won’t be repeated and the parachute payment gets cut. Got to make good on our advantages this season.

With help from YCMIU I’ve managed to pull out of that health crisis earlier. I’m rehydrating now. What a workout that was! Unbelievable!!! And you lot still have the entire Ode to the Thong of Joy to look forward to when I’m fit again!!! It’s a win-win lads!

Don’t worry about any shortfalls Hail mate. Mike will always top us up because he loves us. It’s a beautiful thing the love between an owner and his club lads. It brings a tear to my eye. Although that could be because my back is still spasming……

Not to worry YCMIU mate. I think what precipitated that crisis was that I got me Mr. Bojangles caught in me fly when I was zipping up. That set off a series of muscle contractions. But you were there for me. That’s what matters. Really appreciate that. Although you did push on the wrong foot…. Still….

I wouldn’t go counting too much on Siem the sick note De Jong. Or Rivi for that matter. They both spent time with Johnny C. and Steve McMuffin so any skill they had is long gone. Krul will be fine however and probably won’t be back. Who knows about Thaujam? He’s a bit of a flake by the looks of it…… Harrumph.

I’m excited to see all the new players integrated into the squad. Rafa is getting all kinds of tips on new management strategies at that meeting as well. We’re going to be top drawer now with plenty of pace, bags of effort and no whingers left to speak of! Huzzah!!!!

The £30m, six instalments deal was on the table for both Everton and Spurs. No question of Spurs pulling our pants down. It was all Sissoko.

Sissoko must, for about two hours last night, have been the most unpopular man in football. No wonder the official statement from the club this morning was so curt.

At 19.45pm he was an Everton player, jet standing by and all that. Then there was a two hour period when absolutely no-one seemed to know what was happening, certainly not Everton and probably not Charnley.

It’s hard to believe Sissoko and his people didn’t make lifelong enmities last night.

“We are not a stepping stone, we are Newcastle United.”

Easier said than done, however it is so great to have that vibe at last!

Even though we just sold a bunch of players for precisely the same reason, those words made me tremble. Sheer class, please keep it up!

Sissoko and his team are classles seedy b@stards. They are the epitome of all that is wrong with the modern transfer culture.

Glad we are no longer a stepping stone, & rafa is only brining in people who will play for the badge on the jersey.

This is exactly what newcastle fans have always demanded. It’s exactly what we deserve.

Not asking for a bite mate, just speaking the truth. Are we a bigger club than real madrid, barca, Bayern, juve, man utd etc etc. No we aren’t, even if Rafa gets us to CL consistently it doesn’t automatically make us a big team as arsenal found out with vardy this season.

We are not an elite club, we are a big club because of our fanbase but will never be above the likes of the teams I’ve just mentioned. Are you seriously suggesting that nufc is bigger than all the clubs I’ve listed

were not an elite club…. yet…

There can be few complaints about our transfer window. Fantastic stuff. This Rafa bloke doesn’t hang about! Almost all the nasty niffs have been blown out of the dressing room and we have a functional set of players who want to be here.
Now can’t wait to see the team take shape over the next few weeks.
