Newcastle Fans React With Delight For Daryl Murphy

8:47 am, Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 11 Comments

We were certainly delighted when we saw Daryl Murphy score his first goal ever for Ireland after 23 caps last night and it was some goal as he powered a header past the goalkeeper from a corner with just 10 minutes left in the game to get the 2-2 draw.

Newcastle fans took to Twitter to express their delight for Daryl.

Daryl Murphy – I think he’s happy

Ireland manager Martin O’Neill had said things are going well for the 33 year-old after his “glorious move” to Newcastle United at the end of the transfer window.

Good header by Murphy but the delivery from Brady was excellent as well!! Wish we had signed him for the left wing!!

Him and Richie on either side would have been deadly!

Ha ha jib, that’s what he mean about context – you just don’t see it do you 🙂

    “it’s a shame Martin O’Neill grew up in NI….”

    😀

I’m just glad that we haven’t got any of those Serbian CB’s as the space that Murphy was given was ridiculous.

I’m warming to Murphy, even if I think he might be, brace yourself, a hipster.

Siem De Jong was a hipster, and we all know how that turned out.

    Jimmy,
I think SDJ was like his brother a shyster. Not as described on the tin. Maybe the tin in Dutch was OK but the translation was
    ontbriukbaar.

    A hipster ?

I don’t know what you mean, a hipster to me has always been someone who is fashion conscious, perhaps a bit ott, I’ve never came across a footballing hipster, it would be something learnt if you could explain it to me !

Just in case you were missing him.

Sissoko should start on the right wing against Belarus tonight.
