There’s a report on the Get West London web-site today that identifies the reason Newcastle pulled out of a deal to sign 27 year-old midfielder Alan Judge of Brentford.
The local press at the time in Newcastle were reporting that Alan was on his way to Newcastle to take a medical and sign and that he wouldn’t be fit to play until November.
The deal had apparently been completely agreed including the wages Alan would be getting.
Alan Judge – almost joined Newcastle
But that deal never happened
The Get West London web-site are today reporting the reason was because “he was not as far ahead in his recovery as originally thought.”
That’s what Brentford manager Dean Smith has told them about the potential deal falling though – although Dean doesn’t mention which clubs were actually interested int he play-maker.
This is what Dean Smith said:
“The clubs that were interested in him thought he was further ahead in his fitness that he was.”
“I don’t think anyone would begrudge Judgey a move to a Premier League or a massive Championship club. I’m sure he’ll come back better than before.”
“He probably wasn’t as far ahead as he thought he might be but he’s still progressing. I’m not sure of any timescales – I think it’s too early to say.”
Wonder who the massive Championship club could be?
Judge has only juts had an operation to remove the pins in his right leg and he was at the time supposed to be about three months away from playing.
The local media in Newcastle have been suggesting the club may go back in for Alan in January when he has fully recovered from the broken leg.
We hope Newcastle do just that because Alan looks like a very good player.
Comments welcome.

You’ll need to hit me again with that 🙂
Anyway, I’d be shocked if Pardew or anyone told a casual acquaintance, if that, that kind of sxxt. Unless we now claim he’s just stupid.
Oftentimes, when people mention they ‘met’ so and so, they mean as fans, waving a cap to be signed or something. Which isn’t all that amazing.
Kudos if I’m wrong.

I have no desire to be involved in this never ending game. Whatever that game may be.

I believe exactly what they said, as Ibiza mentioned. The key word is ‘prioritise’ and frankly I’m ok with that. I’d rather be top 6 than win a cup, but that’s me and I accept alternative views.

Pinnochio was too busy spinning stories of ‘we can’t compete’ and towing the party line in order to keep his paymaster happy.
Far too busy to be concentrating on winning a cup.
You really think he gave a crap about getting a statue or winning over the fans when he had an EIGHT year deal as a reward for going along with the ridiculous club policies and keeping shtum?
He was like a pig in sh1t by that point and valued himself above all else.
I’ve heard rumours that his office was ceiling to floor mirrors so he could bash one off whenever the need arose which was quite often.
Egotistical snake.

Let’s hire weak coaches who’ll keep us in the lower tiers of the PL. Great plan! You know that can’t be true.
Good conspiracy theory given our sxxt record 😉

I wouldn’t be shocked if he had said it, since leaving. Alan wont want people thinking any Newcastle failures were his own.
Still, “i know so and so” stories are always to be taken with a pinch of salt, never mind ones online.

Well you’ve just gone against the grain there because where’s the glory in finishing sixth unless it means finishing fourth etc the years after. Why would you not want to win a cup.

Do you honestly think sacked lower league managers were hired to take us to the next level or to toe the line. Where is the conspiracy in that.

Comment #56All just theories of course, but one that i tend to sit with more these days is that it wasn’t a question of setting out to hire a bad manager, just one that was willing to peddle their crap and not rock the boat.
Unfortunately, the two go hand in hand.
People who want to win tend to ask for things to achieve that. Unreasonable so and so’s.
It was the lack of prioritising football / success that has led us down this path. Advertisement was the main factor, football came second.

To answer your question, well yes.
Put yourself in his place, he’s just a dude, an ex footballer, with enough money. A statue, loved by some crazy fans, most people would fall for that.
So, yes.

Comment #62I don’t post on here very often and this is just my opinion but seriously guys do you not have enough shit going on in life to be arguing on a football blog with each other. Does it really matter who said what or he said that. Seriously it’s boring. If someone doesn’t like another poster just ignore them. Enjoy reading the football craic, so let’s get back to it eh ?

Exactly, where is the conspiracy in it all. Of course they didn’t hire the worst managers they could find, they hired the best ones available who would be compliant with their ridiculous plan.

Not sure why it’s surprise u mate Pardew never played strong teams in cups or Europe (until it was the only thing fans were happy about), the club didn’t buy before entering Europe and we never heard the end of how much of a terrible thing it was for us that we qualified for it

Comment #67Is this debate actually about what we consider to be throwing games?
I don’t think anyone is saying the club cared or tried for them, but Pardew purposefully throwing them is another matter.
Still, who cares anymore, really? Isn’t he Palaces problem? I mean, Palaces, ermm…I can’t think of the word…problem it is!
For now, I am enjoying this forward thinking NUFC with Rafa involved. Am I convinced the clubs core ethos have changed? Not yet, but there is hope.

He blatantly threw the game against Cardiff as did Carver the following year away to a shit Leicester team. How can you possibly deny it, it’s like arguing with some religious freak that won’t admit the existence of dinosaurs, the bones are from where God gathered material to build earth from all over the universe.

Your mention earlier, of it being able to be faked; the whole multiple poster thing, has got me intrigued. How would someone go about this? I could guess at a couple of ways: an account being hacked by someone else or an account created that was used to suggest you were talking to yourself. I am assuming you are saying that the pushy account was someone else who was saying those things to make it look like you were a multiple poster making a mistake in talking to themselves. Please correct me If I am am wrong.

Comment #70By the way, someone has to be a little bit cuckoo to have a multiple account so they can agree with themselves or to discredit another poster. I do t know how someone would have the time or inclination to do that. Just saying.
