Jamaal Lascelles – talked to nufcTV

Jamaal talked about Ireland hero Daryl Murphy, who scored a great header for his first ever International goal on Tuesday in Serbia,  and he also said Chelsea striker Christian Atsu who is on loan for the season – is unbelievable.

Here’s some of what Jamaal said during the interview:

“I grew up in Derby so it’s pretty much a home game in that respect. Still just a normal game though and approach it in the same way.”

“Training was sharp this morning with all the new signings and just really good to see bringing so much extra energy and talent to training.”

“Derby are always a good team and are normally up there at the end of the season, so it is going to be a tough game.”

“They haven’t started off great but in the Championship it doesn’t matter about the name of the team, you know Burton beat them the other week and people expect that.”

“On top of that as well with the boys we have signed – you know Murphy was banging in goals in training today, Atsu is a great signing – he’s one we want who’s unbelievable.”

“So you know it’s really confident, it’s really positive and we are looking forward to this game –  we just can’t wait to get started.”

Newcastle fans seem confident we can get our 5th win in a row in all competitions tomorrow.

That would be great!!

Derby are having problems scoring at the moment.
    So I’m going for a 3 – 0 win to the Toon.

Pure guess work at the moment if trying to copy what Benitez’ team might be.
I would like to see the start of some “pairings” – Mitro and Gayle for example or Gayle and Murphy.
Benitez might initially be more reserved/cautious tomorrow.

Got to be a win -surely.

If i was going to attempt to pick a rafa team, i would probably take a punt at maybe Gayle starting up front instead of perez, and the rest of the startung line up the same as V brighton. We might see a couple of the new boys second half.

Really eager to see the new signings play for us. Hope Lazaar plays as I think he will be a star. Him and Atsu on the left will add loads of pace and another dimension down our left side. Great to finally have threat coming down from both wings. Strong competition for places is key to success.

If we can get an early goal could see this turn into a bit of a rout Brighton were lucky we never had Gayle playing as we would have blown them away in the first half !

They are missing a lot of players and have just sold Hendrick so its a good time to play them !

Lets get that 2nd away win in a row nailed !

Call me old fashioned but I want plain old bread and butter Dummet to start tomorrow as I’d like to see Yelling start at RB and I think it’s too much to start both new full backs and especially Huzaar!!! Yedling has experience of the English game. I think Huzaar!!! Will take a while to bed in.

hibbit/ycmiu — indeed – but – there is an air of excitement/optimism I think in how Benitez is going to “blend” elements of in effect two teams -into his starting line ups.
If he has the fans guessing – the players must be guessing as well. Good for competition.

Think it will be amazing if he gets, lets be honest, some non superstar players, playing as a team – all season.
He will deserve the plaudits if he pulls this off.

Much in the same way as Ranieri did last season.

JFA- yeah you mght be right about Lazzar maybe still too early for him. Would you swap Atsu for Goofy? Or introduce him in the second half? Personally I think Goofy has earned a start for now.

Gouffran is clearly enthusiastic and playing with good energy and will be fired up after his last game when he was so unlucky not to score. If that 30 yarder that hit the bar had gone in he would be on fire. As it is he can more than occupy the Derby defence early on as they will be watching him and that will allow Gayle and Richie more space. Rafa then has options with Mitro and Murphy ( M and M’s ) to pile on the pressure. Just know that our traveling fans will do us proud. HWTL.
