Player Could Leave Newcastle Permanently In January

There’s news today in the Italian press that Chelsea’s on loan right winger Christian Atsu is wanted in Italy  by Serie A club Torino and it seems like they even want to sign him in January.

Atsu is on loan at Newcastle and he is so far looking good when he’s played 4 times as a sub for the Newcastle first team, but Italian newspaper Tuttosport has said Atsu is on Torino’s list of potential January targets.

Christian Atsu – on loan at Newcastle for the season

And certainly he has no future at Chelsea, where he’s been since the summer of 2013 after signing on for them for £3.5M from Porto.

The 42 times capped (9 goals) Ghanaian International is on a season long loan deal at Newcastle, and we have the option to buy him.

In fact, because he is currently on loan at Newcastle we would have thought the Magpies have the first option on him.

And it will depend on the details of the loan contract about whether he could leave Newcastle in January and sign for another club – like Torino.

Since he signed for Chelsea he’s been out on loan to get his playing time and he’s been at Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga.

But the few times we’ve seen him play this season he looks a good player who could have some success at Newcastle and can certainly help us with our promotion drive this season.

And from all we’ve heard about Christian he seems keen to make the Newcastle loan spell into a permanent one – and he most certainly will want to leave Chelsea.

If Christian plays well for us through the end of the year it wouldn’t surprise us too much if Rafa signs him  in January on a permanent basis and certainly Christian seems to be enjoying his time on Tyneside.

What do you think?

I’m sure I’ve seen a ball go over the stand before. Yesterday’s went over in the first few minutes I think it was.

I and queuing from mid-day to get in for 3-0 clock kick off – feet trodden on by police horses – I and the stench of piss from the bogs.

I remember Walsall away in the cup – another defeat to lower league opposition – pissed down got soaked – open air bogs standing in 6 inches of rainwater and piss – getting searched by the police.

Away days at Millwall because you couldn’t be seen to miss that one. 🙂 Cardiff, Boro even. That rat run! Scary stuff. 😉 Yet it was the norm. Looking back, wtf was all that about? We must’ve been mental.
