Newcastle Star – It’s A Big Game – We Are Ready

DeAndre Yedlin has come into the side during the suspension of Vurnon Anita and the 23 year-old American has done well and he looks a very exciting attacking right back.

DeAndre has warned his team-mates today as Rafa did during his press conference,  that we cannot take any game for granted and we must bring our A game to Rotherham tomorrow afternoon.

Rafa pointed out today that after our big win at QPR we then slumped badly and were beaten 2-0 at home by Wolves – we cannot have a similar let-down tomorrow.

Newcastle are at the interestingly named New York Stadium on Saturday afternoon and we must not be over-confident.

There are no easy games in the Championship.

Here’s some of what DeAndre had to say in the Chronicle today:

“Every game is a big game, especially in this league. It can go either way”  “We have to prepared as it is a tough place to play. We’ll need to bring our best game.”

“I know we can do that and will have a good chance of winning.”

“Wednesday was pretty crazy, and a game we could have killed off sooner. If we’d been a little sharper in attack and finished our chances it could have been done long before the end.”

“But at the end of the day we scored the goals we needed and got the win. We needed to be sharper in defense.”

“On a positive note everybody fought and we got the points against a very good team. It was pretty up and down, and all over the place at times.”

“Every game is like that. You have to be prepared for it but our medical staff do a great job of getting us recovered and keeping us injury free.”

“We are ready for Saturday.”

Over 90% of fans think we can win this game tomorrow – so let’s hope the players don’t see these poll results.

I’m watching the Ryder cup so just dipping in now and then.

I’m not trying to get up peoples noses – however Steve Harper (who knows more about golkeeping than me and WWSBDR put together ) commentating on 5live said that while acknowledging the quality of Jerome’s shot – thought Darlow encouraged him to try with his bad positioning.

I’ve just watched that Burnley fans excellent vido of the game and you get a good view of Jerome’s goal .
Harps is right Darlow is a bit too near post – htf do people spot this stuff !!!???!!!

So some sub-par positioning that was punished. Comparisons to Sels’ command of the box, particularly considering severity and consistency of mis-positioning by Darlow would be informative, if only we had Steve Harper to give us a complete wide-by-side comparison. Do you happen to have a link to that video, Jib?

Hmm. So bad positioning by Darlow for that goal. Send him on loan to York.

If that Burnley fan want’s to experience the high and lows in football maybe he should change his allegiance to black and white.

Once in the blood always in the blood and life will never be the same again.

I’ll change my Rafa bingo and put this Getty Images guy in the team – he’s all over the place , didn’t even know we’d signed him. sounds like another American.

I was watching a Basketball match in Mallorca with 2 old dears once.
One turned to the other and said –
“This guy Ron Barcardi gets all over the court !”
