New Signing – Everything At Newcastle Has Been Unbelievable

It turns out that the Seattle media are following the fortunes of DeAndre Yedlin at a certain famous football club in England called Newcastle United.

After almost every game there is something in the papers there about their native son and towns and cities in the states are renowned for being proud of their former residents who make good.

DeAndre Yedlin – Newcastle right back

The signing of 23 year-old DeAndre Yedlin may turn out to be a terrific signing by Rafa Benitez, as the manager moved quickly to replace Daryl Janmaat who wanted to leave Newcastle and join Watford.

Daryl has not been missed.

And fans have immediately taken to the young American and when he had to go off last week at Villa Park after 75 minutes with that ankle injury, Newcastle fans chanted “USA USA USA” as the yank walked past them.

Vurnon Anita is available again from his three game suspension, but we expect the more attacking Yedlin to keep his place today at Rotherham where hopefully we can get another win.

This is what the American has said in the Chronicle today when asked about the great fan support he is getting on Tyneside:

“It’s great.” “To know that the fans are behind you and you have their support is a good feeling for any player.”

“I am grateful for that.” “Hopefully, they keep supporting us and we’ll keep winning games.”

“The Norwich game was very tough and it as exciting. It was good that we showed the character to come out on top.”

“The Rotherham game is one where we’ll still have to be at our best.” “In this league, anything can happen.”

“We have to be prepared and if we do that we should come out with a good result.” “You can enjoy it for a bit but then you realise you have a game in three days after it.”

“Then you have to put it behind you and move on.” “That’s just the way the league is.” “You are happy to win but the next game is always just around the corner.”

“It has been wonderful. Obviously I’d heard a lot about the team and the club. To come in and work with Rafa has been great.”

“All of the team-mates and staff have been unbelievable so I have nothing negative to say.”

One of the things that’s good about DeAndre is that he’s ambitious and a terrific professional who works his socks off for Newcastle in games and in training.

We expect him to keep improving with Rafa as his coach.
