Rafa’s Comments From His Press Conference

Rafa Benitez has just given his press conference for the game against Barnsley tomorrow night at Oakwell where we hope we can extend our winning streak to four games.

Rafa has said that Barnsley will not be an easy game and that Daryl Murphy has completed a full training session so maybe he’s in contention for the game at Oakwell?

Rafa Benitez – finished his press conference

Here are some of the initial comments Rafa made about the game tomorrow in Yorkshire tomorrow night:

“When you play two games a week, it’s important to go into the next one winning, because you have more confidence.”

“We have confidence in things we are doing at the moment, but Barnsley are a good team who play with high intensity.”

“If we make mistakes, it won’t be because of complacency.” “I’m sure that Barnsley will push us and press with intensity, and we have to be ready.”

“They attack, they create chances and they score goals. It will not be easy.”

“Karl is training well and Matz is training well so that competition is good for the team.”

“Jonjo is doing really well. I’m really pleased with him and his attitude. He has been working really hard.”

“Daryl Murphy has completed a full training session and we’re really pleased with that.”

If Jonjo Shelvey has really seen the light of day with Rafa’s coaching, we could have a really top player on our hands this season – let’s hope that’s what happens.

And we have to remember that Rafa signed Jonjo for Liverpool back in the summer of 2010 from Charlton Athletic when Jonjo was just 18, just before the manager left The Reds.

Four in five Newcastle fans think we win this game tomorrow.

I expect lots of changes in the side as some who were away will be rested, and some who have been out there every match will get a breather.

I doubt I’ll get 10 out of eleven this time, gutted I put Hayden over Colback for Brentford.

Just thinking about how the tables have turned. Talking to my makem mate this morning, but for some reason he didn’t want to talk about his club, well normally you can’t shut him up about them.

So I talked about his club, odd though because after about 30 minutes he got up and left, again normally he sticks around for a couple of hours.

    Ahh well, roll on tomorrow!
