This Could Be The Newcastle Team Against Ipswich

We have a hunch that Rafa Benitez will not make too many changes to the side that did so well on Tuesday night at Barnsley to come away with the 2-0 win that sent us to the top of the Championship with Norwich only drawing 2-2 at Fulham and Huddersfield losing 3-1 at Preston.

Then Rafa could make a few changes for our 4th round EFL Cup tie on Tuesday night at home to Preston, before we travel to Deepdale on Saturday to face Preston in the league.

So we think there will be only a couple of changes to the side that did so well at Oakwell.

Shelvey Colback
Ritchie Perez Gouffran

The changes are Jack Colback coming in for Isaac Hayden in central midfield and Ayoze Perez coming in to replace Mo Diame in the number 10 role.

It seems that Rafa will stick with his 4-2-3-1 system so no room yet for Aleksandar Mitrovic up front.

What team would you start against Ipswich Town?

I’m thinking he might play Daryl Murphy for the Ipswich fear factor – he’ll relish knocking young Adam Webster all over the shop and mixing it with his old captain Luke Chambers.
Then bring on a fresh Dwight Gayle as an impact player after the old warhorse has spent the first half bullying his old team-mates.
