Sky Pundit’s Prediction For Newcastle vs Ipswich Game

Ian Holloway predicted last Saturday that Newcastle would be beaten 1-0 by Brentford in a huge upset.

But it didn’t happen and we came out 3-1 winners and then beat Barnsley 2-0 on Tuesday night at Oakwell.

Ian has been a little kinder to Newcastle when we play Ipswich this afternoon and he thinks we will win this game.

Let’s hope he’s not wrong two weeks in a row.

🙂

Here’s what Ian has said about the game today:

“Mick McCarthy will be relishing this challenge of trying to stop the in-form team in the division. If anyone can derail Newcastle’s winning run it’s Mick.”

“They have the joint-best defense in the Championship with Brighton, conceding just nine goals, but you just can’t bet against Dwight Gayle at the moment.”

“He’s already scored 11 league goals and I’ll be stunned if he doesn’t add to that this weekend.”

“He was the most expensive player I ever purchased as a manager when I took him to Crystal Palace and I’m not surprised to see him banging them in. He’s pure quality.”

Ollie Predicts: 2-1

Newcastle fans agree with Ollie’s forecast.

Dubai – can’t see what is laughable about 3-0.
We are by far the better team and at home.
Ever since the Huddersfield game we have started well at home.
We get chances and a goal in the first twenty mins.
Ipswich continue to sit and invite pressure. At some point before the 70th min we grab a second.
Last twenty Ipswich start to play and we hit them on the break.

    Doesn’t seem fanciful to me.
    Positive yes but not unrealistic.

To be fair no team in the league so far has come to SJP and really parked the bus.

Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich however will do just that.

They will concede loads of possession to us hoping for a momentary lapse to allow the likes of Freddie Sears to nip in and nick one.

Patience and concentration are the keys today .
