Let us know who you think Newcastle’s Man of the March was this afternoon in the fairly easy 3-0 home win against Ipswich Town in front of a huge crowd of 51,963 at St. James’ Park.
Ayoze Perez made a good return to the side to score a brace with goals after one minute and 73 minutes and Matt Ritchie got the third goal after 78 minutes.
Norwich were beaten 1-0 at home by Preston so we go 3 points clear at the top of the table with Chris Hughton’s Brighton now in second place after beating Wigan 1-0 on the road.
Ayoze Perez scores in the very first minute

Comment #4Let’s not keep comparing this season to work Hoots season in the Championship. Hughton, in my eyes a true toon legend did the business for us and took us back to the Prem.
Rafa is on course to do the same, however it is totally different this time around. Squad revamp, mentality revamp, building for the future. Rafa had a plan, and I for one believe that there are golden times in the horizon!
Howay Hoots, howay wor Rafa, HWTL

Comment #7I watched the game on and off on periscope and whilst I got the gist of what was happening it wasn’t enough to vote for MOM.
I did get the impression that Jonjo was again in charge of the midfield, so should get a few of the votes.

Comment #11Was at the game today and motm has to be shelvey or lacelles. Ritchie bar his goal was woeful and misplaced nearly every pass. The scoreline suggests dominance but after our early goal we really took our foot off the pedal and if they had some decent attackers we could have been punished. Shelveys passing was superb at both long and short range and jamaal was a powerhouse and gave nothing. The middle of the game was boring long balls to gayle who couldn’t win them. Good atmosphere with Bobby Robson chants from both sides

Any thoughts on Leicester City?
Is this how their season will look like or it is just “early days”?

thanks for the info, thats how the game looked to me, must admit it appeared we were indulging in some hoofball at one stage.
This reply is a bit belated as my takeaway delivery arrived.
