An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #3Now to replicate on Saturday.
With Brighton playing Norwich and Huddersfield away to Fulham, big opportunity to really make a break from the play-off spots.
Target of 10 clear by Xmas and a League Cup semi-final, that would make for a very jolly Geordie festive season.

From previous:
I agree with what others have said, Preston came with a game plan to rough us up, maybe take out a few of our players before the weekend, well the got one in Colback, but they also got what they deserved, a bloody good footballing lesson, and six of the best for good measure.

Comment #14So if Mitro had convinced Ritchie to let him take the penalty and if Diame finished the easiest of his 3 chances they’d have both had hat tricks! Gayle must have been sad to not have been out amongst the goals.
Mitrovic has to be involved on Saturday after that performance, terrific. Diame starting to look better too (but how bad was that sitter he missed?!)
Just hope the lads don’t go into Saturday thinking it will be a walkover. That was a weakened Preston team out tonight and they will want revenge on Saturday. Rafa seems great at keeping the players’ feet on the ground so hoping it won’t be an issue.

It’s so easy to see tha Rafa effect, Gouffran Colback and Dummet all look like different players to last season, they are obviously listening and taking on board what is expected of them, and long may it continue.
Looking at the team tonight must give the fans confidence knowing that we have players now who can slot into the team at anytime and not let the side down. Great stuff!

Comment #19A bang average 6 in rafa bingo tonight but will take that all season to watch this kind of performance .
Home draw and i don”t think any team will fancy coming up to winterfell .
We may be in championship so keeping things in perspective but a result/ performance like that even for a Prem team would have the media drooling .
Saturday will be a very different type of game i think.
but least Browne will be missing the little tw@t

I agree Leeds would be a nice draw, but I can’t help wanting us to draw a prem team just to see how well we can do against them. No Fear from me, not now we have Rafa and a team that tries and wins… lmao!

Comment #21ww tbh i did say quite a while ago he has never had a true left winger ahead of him which must stop his progression in going forward
and he is a solid LB defensively so the future looks bright for him imo with rafa guiding him
i’m not aiming this at you but the abuse he gets continuously has been shocking and i hope he gets similar respect soon, one of our own, captain and performing well! can’t ask for much more

Tbf mate Colback and Goofy just look like the players they were when we signed them again, like they are enjoying football which is nice to see and Rafa has done well to get that back into them
Its just quite nice being a Newcastle fan again isnt it?

Comment #23If I’ve got it right, there’ll be six Prem clubs in the next round. Fingers crossed and in any event, let’s hope we get drawn at home.

You’ll have been testing your back with all the goal celebrations. So, when you get home, you’ll have to contend with your phone that determines ‘your’ comments. Why not just let it get on with it, set up an blog account of its own? It’ll be interesting to see how its views differ from yours!

Yeah, it’s so much better these days being a Newcastle fan, because now when you get behind the team they respond, and how!
Did you notice that team spirit after the pen incident, how Richie went to Mitro and put his arm around him, exchanged a few kind words and got back to work. So Mitro goes on and scores another goal showing true charater and no petulance.
Great team spirit.

Haha dont worry mate I dont think I abuse Dummett haha I actually like him as a back up player but he’ll never be a starting LB in my eyes hes just too limited
Again if he plays how he did tonight moving forward I wont be as worried seeing his name on the team sheet but the likes of Lazaar and Haidara just have more to their game imo

i cant agree mate, getting thru the next round and keeping the momentum going is the best thing,we could come up against a prem side on fire and totally wipe our confidence…which no doubt effect the league form….take the so called easier option while there are some, not to take leeds for granted, still have to beat them…a few year back i think it was a portsmouth/millwall final coz the big teams knocked each other out and didnt take it serious in the f.a cup…something similar would do…even just making the final against one of the big boys would probably get us a europe place…unless the rules have changed.

I agree, like I said Leeds would be a good draw, But I don’t think we should fear a prem team at all, the likelihood is we are going to meet one pretty soon, and I think we are ready, the team has good spirit, a great understanding and a mater tactician. I think we could hold our own with them, but as most of the top teams play their second string in these cups I think we would be onto a winner anyway.

Comment #29well i just thought i’d better state it you know how it is on here lol
i’ll agree to disagree tho on lazaar n hiadara, maybe harsh on lazaar but hiadara isn’t great defensively and is a perma crock he’ll be gone as soon as he’s fit imo
we’ll see with lazaar but with dummett i know he is strong in defence which i think is the most important plus he’s getting to show more of his game now
at the end of the day tho it’s all good at the mo

Tbh the less I say about the pen incident the better for us all haha I will just get pelters
Was nice to see Ritchie going up to him straight away after though I agree, similar to Yedlin booting the ball in Haydens nads both of them laughing just shows theres a team spirit there which is great

Oh aye I know people take things the wrong way a lot no bother pal
I like Haidara though I agree hes been crocked a lot since that lil **** tried to end his career but Rafa has done wonders for our injury issues so far so I will give him another chance (same with de Jong if he comes back and Aarons). Lazaar will be the one though imo once he gets to grips with the toughness of the league he will be a player for us
As for Dummett I agree hes a solid defensive LB but am not sure theres much more to his game

Comment #32How many of the PNE side are likely starters at Deepdale ?
Got to be ultra cautious we don’t trip up after this win.
They might play deep and hope to hit us on the counter after this showing, even though they’re at home.
If we win 1-0 that’ll do.

Comment #33i’d take a liverpool at home tbh if they play that kind of team it’d be a sell out and rafa would put his all into it
the prem teams need to be knocked out at some point so why not next!
