We have now won 13 of our 17 total games this season and 13 of the last 15 games after we lost the first two at Fulham and at home to Huddersfield so Newcastle have been in good form so far this season and the results are quite good.
We also have 10 clean sheets.
And while having a good cup run is great, our number one priority is getting promoted back to the Premier League and therefore we have to concentrate and go all out for the 3 points at Deepdale on Saturday.
We’re sure Rafa Benitez will make that very clear tomorrow in his press conference for the game and that the cup run is simply a bonus for the club.
It’s thumbs up from Rafa Benitez
If we can win this game we will stay at least 3 points clear at the top of the league and we need as many wins as possible just as soon as possible, so we can push on and become a Premier League club again – as soon as possible.

Comment #1If I remember correctly, most of us agreed we, as fans, didn’t have the power to remove MA. The best we could achieve was that he’d listen and change his ways…..so maybe it was a success after all.

Unfortunately he isn’t going good anywhere and everytime some kind of movement got going he got lucky with a feel good result or in the case of the Pardew out protest he told them they could take banners then took them all away. The staged boycott wasn’t a huge success because the majority of people prepared to not go had stopped going anyway, stag do’s and £15 student tickets for the Platinum club helped make up the numbers as well. There has to be compromise and he has put a top manager in place, only time will tell if he keeps him happy, I’m not prepared to protest over something that might not happen.

Comment #5I think this PNE game is more difficult than folk think.
Tuesday night’s spanking of their second team changes nowt except maybe stiffening their sinews a bit more for the conflict.
Having said that .
If we can keep putting together runs of six wins every month or so I’ll be well happy.

That Wolves at home defeat may well turn out to be the best result of the season for us.

I’d be surprised if we’re complacent on Saturday. It’ll be a different set of players anyway!

Comment #10Before we get into a Mike Ashley love fest, let’s not forget he has been responsible for two relegations of this great club.
He has made us, in recent times, the laughing stock of the football world, a basket case.
Apologists have blamed our managers while the real culprit has got away with it.
Gambler that he is, his last desperate throw of the dice has, for the moment turned into a winner.
That will only last as long as he stays clear of the club. Should he manage to sort out his calamitous business affairs at SD, his interest in his plaything will return and we can expect the customary curved ball to put us back in the dooda.
If we are to build on what has been achieved so far this season and create something lasting, it has to be without this slime ball.

You’re reading the wrong blog if you think this is turning in to a Mike Ashley love fest.
