Simon Grayson’s Preston North End were on a really good run before we met them on Tuesday night in the League Cup and beat them 6-0, after Alan Browne was sent off in the first half.
Simon had made 9 changes to his side for that game, so it was not the strongest Preston side that he put out.
But it will be tomorrow as Preston have prioritized the Championship over the cups and we should expect a much tougher game tomorrow afternoon at Deepdale than we got last Tuesday night at St. James’ Park.
It will be another big test for this Newcastle side to see just how professional they are after a big 6-0 win and whether the players can keep their feet firmly on the ground and get our 7th win in a row in all competitions.
Ayoze Perez scoring on Tuesday night to make it 6-0
Newcastle striker Ayoze Perez certainly seems to have the right attitude and he knows it will be a different looking side that Newcastle meet and he also knows that Rafa will make quite a few changes to his Newcastle side for tomorrow’s game.
This is what Ayoze has told the local press today:
“There will be a lot of changes again on Saturday I am sure.” “It will be really hard, we will have to be really focused.”
“We need to forget about Tuesday and try to go there and get the points.”
“We knew that we have a big squad, with quality and it was difficult when we were relegated,”
“We are now focused on our goal of getting back to the Premier League as soon as possible and that’s what we are working on.”
“We have momentum, everyone is in a good mood, and everyone wants to be fit, as soon as a player gets a chance they have to be ready.”
“I am getting better, I am scoring goals which is important for me because the confidence grows a little more.” “It is nice to score.”
“We now have a game on Saturday, we have to be focused and see what happens.”
Ayoze now has 6 goals for the season after scoring three goals in the last two games and he seems to be in top form at the moment and we think he will get a start at Deepdale tomorrow.
Our fans are fairly confident of a win tomorrow, which we really need to keep our promotion drive going in full swing.
