Here is our third and final piece from Mitro’s terrific interview in the Telegraph today.
And maybe it’s the one where Mitro is the most outspoken and he talks about how difficult he was for his parents to raise him – because he was so aggressive.
And now he’s the father of a son he will be experiencing just how difficult being a parent can be – although the challenges of parenting increase significantly as the boy gets older.
That’s said from experience.
🙂
Aleksandar Mitrovic after scoring first goal today
Here’s some of what Mitro has said today:
“My father said I would be a criminal or a kick boxer.” “I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t play football. Maybe something where I can use my adrenalin.”
“Maybe something like boxing. I had a lot of energy when I was a child. I was difficult for my parents. I can see me in my boy now as well.”
“I know how hard it must have been for my parents. My mum always said ‘You will see’, and now I see it.”
“We have very good team spirit and we are winning lots. I have to wait for my chance and when I get my chance I have to show people I can score goals and I know how to play.
“Maybe last season I played more, but we are in good shape,”
Mitro got another very good brace today that gave Newcastle all 3 points at Deepdale and we now have 34 points from the first 15 league games and are still 3 points clear at the top.
Mitro has scored 4 goals in the last 4 days and now has 5 goals for the season.

I just love how Rafa keeps their feet on the ground with comments like ‘We still need to inprove’. He must be loving this job at the moment.
Said it after the cup match and will say it again – What a difference a great manager makes –
(By the way Mitro…It’s harder bringing up daughters )

Luckily Rafas one dimensional tactics weren’t to hampered today, I’d have been disappointed with just the one point.

It was never going to be an easy game but a point definitely wouldn’t have been a good result, acceptable result but definitely not good.

Comment #15Jib Jibberish – that is a very aggressive and vehement post directed towards another poster.
I strongly anticipate an intervention by those who do not like this type of post. Like this morning.
Well they say they do not – they’ll have no truck with selective targeting and be fair and show no signs of hypocrisy…………..

Comment #19first away game in over 20 years
the travelling fans are even better than i remember the noise and support was amazing total loved it
Mitro was outstanding and put in a shift on and off the ball which makes him all the more dangerous
i guess folks are voting for the 2 goals to make him MoM
my MoM would be Darlow for the best all round game he’s had since he joined us made himself big and strong controlled his area his distribution was excellent kept us in the the game with 3/4 top draw saves
a quality performance that makes him my MoM
don’t let anyone kid you this was not an easy game complete opposite to tuesday
absolutely had a great day out 3 points no kids and no driving what more can a man ask

Comment #25One third of the way through the season (plus one game) extrapolate our points thus far and that gives us 102 at seasons end or 105 with the extra game added.

I think those two freak results at the beginning should take the extrapolation utility of it. I think a better gauge is to compare us against how we done last time we got promoted. We’re winning a lot more games now than then.

Comment #34As far as I’m concerned there’s nothing to get over.
As you never answered my question at the time how could I of possibly known what you were on about in order to get over it.
I’d suggest getting over ‘yourself’ but as the new pin up boy I’d imagine that’s a tough one.
As for my foul mouth. Hypocrisy reigns supreme. I’ll grant, I swear a lot.
But again, I’ll be sure to remind you and again, I’m sure it won’t be long.

Comment #37I mentioned during the last international break that the blog seemed to be suffering catastrophically low numbers as all those old posters were yet to return, as well as the new ones who are reticent to post because of “those that spoil it” and was told it was because of said international break.
It’s quiet. Always is. Ok then.
Little under a year ago this blog and threads thereafter on matchday would have 500-600 comments and it’d be hard to keep up even on none matchdays.
We’re lucky if it gets over 200.
Just how they like it.

The impression you do of our UEFA elite manager having two heads (I’m sure you get it) every other post is, shall we say, thinning.
