Jesus Thanks Newcastle Fans – Happy To Be In Squad Again

It was good to see both Jesus Gamez and Achraf Lazaar back in the squad again yesterday after both players have only made each made one start and one substitute appearance for the side this season.

Maybe next week at home to 4th bottom Cardiff City both players could get a run-out, but we must get all 3 points in that game and we cannot have any slip-ups just before the (long and boring) two week International break.

Jesus is again appreciative of the brilliant support yesterday from the dedicated Newcastle fans who made the trip to Deepdale.

Everybody is pulling for Newcastle these days – just like Rafa has asked for all season.

I will be in the Canaries when we play Cardiff and it would be perfect break if we also puck up the three points.

Would be perfect if we could give another team soon a hammering, just to remind teams that come to ours they have ‘No’ chance to pick up any points

Yedlin is being assessed for his head injury yesterday, However it was another great win, hard fought, and our performance was not up to standard, maybe because of tactical changes, but it shows the quality we have to win any game.

Managers are right I think we will take some stopping now, and should we lose a game that would be a massive feather in the cap of the opposition that beats us.

I fancy that we will have this league wrapped up by the back end of April. Just need to start to increase the points gap for a happy xmas.

Yesterday reminded me so much of some of SBR’s away games.

In those days the volume of games came from the fact we were in Europe.

Some thing would happen to disrupt the team plans (Friday it was a Gayle hamstring tweak )

We go away and seemingly play shite in the first half and then hump the opposition in the second.

In fact what was happening then is what is happening now.

Rafa/Bobby would say “whatever you do don’t concede first half while I and my coaches have a good look at their set up”

Half-time arrives the requisite tweaks are made and instructions issued and bingo.

Yesterday realising they were giving Shelvey no time at all Rafa gave the task of finding the killer through ball for Mitro to Matt Ritchie and the Scottish international delivered on the hour.

The Preston defense never even attempted to intercept it , they were so focussed on the bald one.

Preston then chasing the game gave Deandre Yedlin that little bit of extra space and he dropped a beauty right on Big Als head which gave him the chance to poke home his spilled (spilt ?) header.

Simon Grayson desperately throwing on forwards to rescue a point was never going to work although the ref did his best to oblige the home side.

It would be fascinating to find out what Rafa perceives as his priority purchases in the next window in 10 weeks time
