Talented Star Keen To Show He’s A Team Player At Newcastle

Aleksandar Mitrovic is becoming even more popular on Tyneside if that’s possible and his four goals in the last two games show just how good a striker he is right now.

And it’s an illustration of just how good he can become with Rafa his mentor and coaching him every day to become a better player.

Mitro has been interviewed in the local press today and the 22 year-old shows a great attitude and wants everybody to know he is a team player and the Newcastle results are more important than whether he’s playing in the team or not.

Aleksandar Mitrovic acknowledging fans after the game on Saturday

This is what Mitro said today:

“I am a team player.” “It’s always a better feeling when you score goals and win the game.”

“But I am 100% if we win and I don’t score. The team’s importance is in front of me and has to be for everybody.”

“I enjoy it a lot. Every player wants to play. Dwight Gayle has had an amazing season so I wait for my chance.”

“I hope I use it well and I’ll fight for my place. I’ll keep training hard and that’s all I can do.”

“This was a really good delivery from DeAndre so I did my job.” “I enjoy it a lot.” “Every player wants to play.”

“Dwight Gayle has had an amazing season so I wait for my chance.” “I hope I use it well and I’ll fight for my place.”

“I’ll keep training hard and that’s all I can do.” “We have had a really short time to work between games.”

“I think that we need to relax and to rest a little more.” “We have to use the week to prepare for the next game.”

“Every game we have to prepare well and win in front of our fans.”

And Rafa Benitez has been very pleased with the two matches Mitro has played, the start on Saturday only because striker Dwight Gayle had hamstring problems in training and Rafa would not risk him.

This is what Rafa said when asked about the Serbian’s performance at Deepdale:

“He’s a strong striker and he’s good in the air.”

“He can hold up the ball and when he fights like he has against Preston in the last two games he’s a threat for any defence in the Championships.”

Next up at St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon are 4th bottom Cardiff City, so we’ll have to be extra careful that we win this game – because it looks like an easy game for us.

That could be dangerous unless the lads continue to concentrate 100%.

We have to get as many points on the board as soon as we can this season.

Welshie …….. Don’t get the hump it’s helpful for your character building to accept defeat gracefully.

I honestly thought your new manager knew what he was doing but after tonight’s performance I have serious doubts. I think you’re doomed to be honest.

Is there something about that best GK this season poll that somehow doesn’t seem right.

I’m sure there is but I just can’t put my finger on it.

    Any one help me out?

Very interesting article about Rafa’s experiences of getting clubs promoted. It’s from yesterday’s Guardian. It’s a long read but worth it.
