Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe believes it will be very difficult for teams to catch Newcastle now we have gone 3 points clear of Brighton & Hove Albion at the top of the Championship table.
We are 6 points clear of 3rd placed Huddersfield and we have a very good goal difference too.
The stunning stat we keep mentioning is since we were shockingly beaten in our first two games of the season and the anxieties of the fans were reignited after the terrible nightmare with Steve McClaren last season we have won 14 of the last 16 games in all competitions and lost only once.
We lost when the players got too big for their boots against Wolves, after we had just walloped QPR 6-0 and we were at home but still looked hopeless.
Andy Hinchcliffe – hard to catch Newcastle
If the lads can truly go into every single game this season and play at or near their best and fully respect the opposition, we must have a good chance of promotion.
Andy Hinchcliffe was asked if any team can catch us now:
“I would doubt it. I thought it might have been a rough ride for them when they lost at Fulham, but with the quality of their squad and the attacking players they have there is just so many options for Benitez.”
“The fans are loving it, the goals are flying, and I cannot see them finishing outside the top two.”
Cardiff City are improving under new manager Neil Warnock and since he took over on October 5th they have played four games, won two and drawn one for 7 points.
That’s almost half of their 15 points after they had picked up just 8 points in their first 11 games.
It will not be an easy game on Saturday and if our players think it will be a walk in the park then we could lose the game.
That’s the danger now – that our players read the headlines and listen to the pundits (the “experts”) and they start to believe them – that’s always a quick way to go on a downward spiral.
We must win the game against Cardiff City on Saturday come hell or high water – to send the fans off for the boring two week International break very happy – even ecstatic.
Howay The Lads!!

Comment #4I think people are more miffed that this seems to be the place to bear personal grudges, rather than talk football.

Bob Bradley was apparently attracted to the Swansea job as the sheep in America are far too aggressive.

Comment #37I have to say Man City, Barcelona is a cracking game. Quite often they don’t live up to expectations but not this one – a really good game. However the more chances City miss you can’t help feeling Barcelona will sneak an equaliser.

Comment #38And just how much are the tax payers subsidising West Ham ? Could be interesting if they come down with the Mackems
London mayor Sadiq Khan has ordered an investigation into the finances of the Olympic Stadium after being told the total cost of converting the arena for use by West Ham has soared by £51m.
