Moussa Sissoko Proving Newcastle Fans Right

We watched the Tottenham vs Bayer Leverkusen Champions League game last night and Spurs played really poorly and were flat all game long – they lost 1-0.

Moussa Sissoko looked like the player he was when he played for us last season – he was hopeless and looked disinterested.

There’s something wrong with Moussa who can be a very good footballer as he proved when coached by Rafa Benitez and he showed that in the Euro 2016 Championships.

Moussa Sissoko in action last night at Wembley

It’s got to be his attitude and temperament but this was the Champions League – something he craved for when he was on Newcastle’s books.

But all too often he plays like he did last night where he was really embarrassing – how much did we sell him for again?

He was so bad that BBC correspondent Gary Linekar sent out this tweet.

And some Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to express their opinions, because this is no surprise to the Geordie fans.

Ruel Fox was 10 times the player Sissoko was !!

Spurs do seem to sign a lot of players from us was always gutted when Ginola and Ferdinand went to them!

All I’ve got to say on Sissoko is that £30m was a great deal for us and we don’t miss him.

If pardew were to defend not making a player worse then this arrogent greedy player is a one most might agree with because he’s showing now exactly what he showed us only now he can’t claim that he would do better at a CL club.

HBA, costa and Suaez show periods of bad disipline or selfish behaviour but these guys all make that up that up with decent performances even Ballotelli put decent performances in.

gaining profits like this it’s no wonder ashley wants a buy cheap policy.

Thing is though he’ll be dropped at Spurs, severely bollocked of his manager and captain and probabably shunned by some of the more passionate players, where as here he would have be guaranteed a start and none of the players or captain would have cared anyway.

At least with Diame he gives 100% in terms of putting in tackles and throwing his body around even if he is struggling to get involved in attacking moves but could you imagine if we didn’t sell Sissoko how he would play in away games!!?! Rafa would have had him “rotated” a fair few times by now

I think we have to give Graham Carr more credit than he’s been getting recently. Yes he made mistakes with Cabella and Thauvin as they just aren’t cut out for the English game but overall his signings have shown a profit.

Operating under the old remit to buy cheap and sell dear he was restricted on age and price but also recommended several players that have gone on to become stars , Dele Ali and Aubameyang should have been done deals.
He can still be useful to us behind the scenes identifying players to suit Rafa ‘s new remit. Neither he nor Charnley were competent enough to be given total control on transfers but under Rafa ‘s jurisdiction they both have roles to play.

The profits from Sissoko and Wijnaldum will be very useful in creating a squad for next season. Spurs loss our gain.

Unless Carr releases a book I guess we will never fully know which players he has recommended which have been vetoed in the past names that have been banded about before that we have missed out on have been Aubemyang, Matuidi, Varane all of which potentially could have been immense!

At least now he can go to Rafa with his first picks which will go under consideration along with Rafas other scouts so rather than going for a 5th choice like Riviere we might end up with a young Torres or some belter of a player that Rafa wants!

And just how many minutes has Sissoko played in the Champions League ?
Meanwhile his beloved Arsenal are near the top of the Premiership and could even win the Champions League .
    Ouch !

LCBP ………. Imagine how frustrating to make recommendations for players that are ignored and go on to be stars. As you say his first choice suggestions were dismissed for cheaper options sometimes being 4th or 5th choice.

I still think he is held in high regard at the club and can hopefully discover another Aubameyang . It seems that Rafa is happy to have him on board and as scouting is a time consuming job then let him do it. He should never have been given too much authority at the club but as long as Rafa has final say then his recommendations remain just that.

Just thought I’d make an update.

All this Lascelles talk is nonsense.
He’s young and had a good season, yes.
But he’s not even worth half of the prices flying around.

I have to say I don’t understand why he impresses people so much.
His one major flaw is passing.
He seems incapable of playing a forward pass and you can’t play for a big team and pass sideways.

What Lascalles can do at the moment though is defend very well and with a bit more coaching from Rafa his passing and concentration will improve ! Only have to look at how much Carragher improved under Rafa to see what could happen with Lascalles!

Betty – Sterling & Stones £100m for the pair.
Ritchie & Lascelles about £15m for the pair!

I’m not saying they are as good but they certainly are not £85m worse!

No wonder even after months of sissoko transfer, ppl are still talking the staggering sum of 30 million. We knew what we were doing, we were shipping out a very bad rotten egg, with great ability, but that ability was never gonna be shown to the fullest. You will never get the euros performances out of him.

    i’m sure it’s been pointed out, but still find it deserved and fitting;

not one of townsend, janmaat, sissoko or wijnaldum started a PL match for their new clubs at the weekend.

What a feeling it is to sell such players as sissoko, wijnaldum townsend & not miss any of them.

Remember when cabaye left, the team didn’t performance for six months, using cabaye transfer as an excuse. Now a days cabaye talks about how much he misses newcastle.

I can guarantee the others will feel the same. Cabaye has had more time to reflect on it.

Point been, great feeling these players missing our club, rather than the fans missing the player.

The Telegraph’s Alan Tyers is comparing Klopp’s Liverpool to “The Entertainers”
He says they are the most exciting side the English top flight has seen since Newcastle United circa 1996. Full of goals, and full of comedy errors at the back.

As I said in the summer, Sissoko will fail at Spurs, not because he isn’t good enough as I feel he could be with the right manager, but because it was Daniel Levy who signed him and not Potchettino, if a player is not what the manager asked for then he will never get a fair chance, we saw that with Mbiwa, Anita and Cabella who were clearly not what Pardew wanted.

Sissoko is big strong and pacey. They say that at his best he is fitter than just about anybody else in the game.
But, on the ball he is clumsy and his range of passing is poor.
Some years ago ( not that many ) when the game was not played on semi synthetic good pitches with a light weight user friendly ball you had to be able to play first and formost. Then if you were an athlete so much the better.
I think it’s now the other way round.
Sissoko could not pass a ball like Terry Mc to save his life.
