Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has been awarded October’s Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award.
This is the first Manager of the Month award for Rafa after he led Newcastle to five wins in five games for the month of October and to the top of the Championship table.
Benitez beat out Brighton’s Chris Hughton, Preston boss Simon Grayson and Leeds manager Garry Monk for the award.

But Dwight Gayle did not win October’s Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award and he was beaten out by Fulham’s Sone Aluko.
The 27-year-old forward scored a great goal in the derby win over Brentford and a hat-trick of assists as the Whites demolished Huddersfield 5-0.
Dwight Gayle had scored four goals in five game during October as Newcastle had started to dominate the opposition.
Well they say you cannot win everything …….
Here are the other winners in the lower leagues.

Boot-licking must work
It’s made Gayle top scorer in the League with 11 goals.
That horrible basic hoofball has us 3 points clear at the top of the table with +21 goals !

Comment #3Jib, as I’ve said before, you are wasting your breath (or time more like it, I suppose). I haven’t just re-read Dale Carnegie. I’m not trying to win friends and influence people. I really don’t care what you (especially) think, I just like to express my thoughts.Venting I suppose. You make yourself a drink, light a fag, kick those bonny big Benwell rats off the settee and relax. You can ignore me. Not that I’ll go away, mind…
