This Talented Teenager Would Be Great Acquisition In January

As well as bringing players in players who will challenge immediately for the first team, we expect Rafa Benitez to also bring in some younger players who are the top youngsters in Europe and will be given some time to develop into regular first team players at Newcastle.

That makes good financial sense too, that we could get a potential world-class player of the future to the club at a reasonable price when they are young.

Nikola Milenkovic – 19 year-old Serbian International

But it’s not easy knowing exactly which top youngsters will turn out to be the world-class players of the future – there’s the rub.

It’s something Newcastle have tried to do under Mike Ashley for years, but we have never been too successful at that.

But now we have Rafa Benitez in place with all his many contacts in the world of football, Newcastle must stand a good chance of nabbing some top youngsters next month or in the summer.

One of those players we have been linked with recently is 19 year-old 6ft 5ins Partizan Belgrade center-back Nikola Milenkovic, who looks to be an excellent young player and already in the first team at Partizan.

Rafa has had Newcastle scouts watching the youngster a number of times this season and he’s looked impressive.

Nikola came through the Youth Academy at Partizan and made his debut for the first team in the SuperLiga match against Mladost Lucani last April.

Nikola already has one cap for Serbia when he played in the 3-0 loss to Qatar in a friendly in late September, when he was still only 18 and he is very highly regarded in Serbia.

Milenkovic has been a regular in the Partizan side this season with 15 games and one goal and he’s played a total of 32 games with 2 goals for his home town club since April.

He would be a great signing for us in January – or next summer.

Makes sense to sign these type of players and loan them back to their clubs for rest of
season as we will get promoted (just if champions or not).

We need a strategy in place like SBR had, we will never compete with Chelsea, United, City in the transfer market so we need to unearth the gems, good enough you are old enough.
