Rafa Benitez Looking To Improve All Levels At Newcastle

Rafa Benitez will look to bring in some players in the summer who can help with our promotion drive, but also be good enough to make the step up to the Premier League, with the hope that’s where we will be playing next season.

But as well as bringing in first team players, Rafa also wants to strengthen Paul Beardsley’s Development Squad and Newcastle will continue to scour the continent for top teenagers who can come to Newcastle and have time to develop into top players at the club.

Peter Beardsley – Newcastle Development Manager

This is not exactly a new strategy at the club and we have tried that since early 2008, but we have not been successful as a club in bringing many young players through to the first team.

Paul Dummett is the best example we have at the moment, but far too many promising  young players have not made it at the club and have fallen by the wayside over the last eight years – and Rafa wants to change that.

Newcastle did bring in Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, Celtic defender Stuart Findlay and striker Elias Fritjof Sorensen from HB Koge in the summer and according to the Chronicle today more players like this will be expected to arrive in January

There could also be some top teenagers who arrive who are good enough to go straight into the first team squad.

We have written recently about some of those potential players like 19 year-old center-back Nikola Milenkovic of Partizan Belgrade and 19 year-old play-maker Youri Tielemans of Anderlecht..

Rafa has had conversations this season with both Peter Beardsley and Youth Team Manager Joe Joyce about potential new additions to their squads in January and next summer.

The playing standards at Newcastle will continue to improve from the first team down as Rafa continues to transform the club at all levels of the club.

trouble is we need better coaches at the youth level to implement rafa’s ideas, but beardo and watson don’t appear to be going anywhere soon.
maybe rafa can transform them as he has the players

    Here’s a thought for you.

Maybe he can inculcate Pedro and Watson with his ideas and experience and make them better coaches !

On reflection probably not negative enough for you .

The usual suspects are rapidly running out of whingeing material and are finding they have nothing to contribute otherwise.

Jib…Perhaps it’s something to do with people not reading others posts and talking rubbish?

    What Rotonda already said:

I get the impression that the tickets only go online if they are not all gobbled up this morning by people getting them in person from Nine bar.

Job @4 – no its not just that, trust me 🙂

Is this Paul Beardsley, twin brother of club legend Peter?

Anyhoo it’s been a given that once Rafael has had first team squad settled and on the simmer that Pedro at least gets given the grace of better tools to work with at the academy, before concluding that he’s not that great a coach. We’ve had some right tools there and not the useful ones.

mickybraham @5 – The NUFC site is notoriously bad but make sure you are logged in otherwise the select seats button is not active. Otherwise it is probably what Jib said.
