Newcastle Have Unbelievable Odds To Be Promoted

There’s not too many people who would want to vote for Newcastle to miss out on promotion this season, with the team on a winning streak of nine games – eight of those in the Championship – and Newcastle are now 9 points clear of 3rd placed  Reading and 5 points clear of Brighton in second place.

It’s not only our league position that looks good at the moment, but Rafa Benitez takes nothing for granted – ever – and will demand his players play every single game this season with 100% concentration and complete respect for the opposition.

rafa benitez thumbs up

Rafa Benitez in training – seems confident enough

Even our fans are getting the message we cannot be complacent – and we will take absolutely nothing for granted in any game, especially after the disasters and pain of the last two seasons we’ve all had to ensure.

The current Sky Bet odds on  who will be promoted from the Championship this season show Newcastle at 1/33 odd on – unbelievable odds.

Newcastle 1/33
Brighton 8/15
Norwich  7/4
Aston Villa 4/1
Sheffield Wednesday 11/2

And as far as winning the Championship, here are the Sky Bet odds.

Newcastle 1/6
Brighton 6/1
Norwich 33/1
Aston Villa 80/1
Sheffield Wednesday 100/1
Reading 100/1

Here’s the current position at the top of the Championship

PosTeamGamesGDPoints
1Newcastle464594
2Brighton463493
3Reading46485
4Sheffield Wednesday461581
5Huddersfield46-281
6Fulham462880

The only thing that matters now is that we find a way to win against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday at St. James’ Park.

If we can do that then Rafa Benitez will be the first manager in Newcastle’s long 124 year history to have won 10 games in a row.

He’s already close to getting into the record books at Newcastle.

What a manager!

Can someone clear this up. I keep reading that KK won 14 in a row between two seasons, so is ten in a row the first time in one season and the 14 just in general.

Mancini the more likely I think
Eddie Howe may feel he has gone as far as he can with Bournemouth and see it as a step up.
Rafa knows he is at the start of something that may prove to be his biggest achievement ever in creative a powerhouse from scratch .
He knows st James park is the real thing whereas west ham’s new home seems like theme park where everything just seems anything but the real thing .
Relax you irons … Mr pards might be available in few short weeks ?

    From nufc.com:-

“Since drawing at Aston Villa in late September, United have won eight consecutive Championship games.
There is still some way to go before equalling the 13 straight league wins under Keegan over two seasons between April and October 1992.

“Victory equalled the club all-time league and cup record of nine wins in a row, set by Kevin Keegan’s side in 1994.

“Rafa’s side secured their fourth successive away win, still some distance off the record number of six that Newcastle recorded during 1992.”

    From previous
It’s well known that Pardew gave 2 intrvieews to Ashley!

The first in the White Lion in Barnet.

The second in the Grosvenor Casino Edgeware Road.

    Ron,
So he won’t be the first to win ten in a row but the first to win ten in a row in one season?

As I understand it, the 10 in a row is for all competitions. The other record of 13 is league only

    TtT,
So he’s not the first manager in our 224 year history to win ten in a row then?

West Ham have an average gate of 57 000, at a home ground that holds exactly the same. They have the third highest attendances in the EPL and stand on the threshold of the greatest era in their history, they simply have to take it, and while they won’t get Benitez, they can certainly attract similar.

The 9 wins in a row is in all competitions. The 13 is league only. In the 13-match run KK had a drawn game in a Cup match.

It depends on what you are looking at – he will be the first to win 10 in a row in ALL competitions, i.e. including the EFL Cup games.

The longest run on consecutive league wins only is 13

If we win all the league wins from now to Boxing Day (Sheffield Wed), Rafa will beat the record of 13 consecutive league wins.

No one is worried about Rafa going to West Ham? They are a very ambitious club and he’s an ambitious man, I hope he won’t leave but I won’t be putting money on it

As much as I loved the Keegan days and even SBR….

I would love Rafa to get this record and make it huge. Not just 10 games but 14, 15, 16 +

He has come in and completely changed our whole club.

    Amazing job

57,000 yet they still need the tannoy to help with creating any sort of atmosphere .
Rafa knows up at winterfell he can one day rule England and more importantly do it from the north.
Apologies for those who aren’t G.O.T fans

    Rafa I’ll not leave.

I just hope if we are promoted Ash gives him a 5 year contract or a 3 year rolling contract. But more importantly ‘backs’ him financially.

I don’t want all this momentum to end, I am not saying we will win the league but I think Europe in our first three years back up is not out of the question.

Look what he has done with Lascelles, Mitro, Darlow, Mbemba….

They are all improving with his coaching. Can you imagine what he ‘could’ of done with Benny
