Alan Shearer – Blackburn Deserved To Win

This was a shock defeat today at St. James’ Park and Alan Shearer was at the game this afternoon and tweeted the fact that he thought Blackburn Rovers deserved their win.

Alan played for Blackburn Rovers before he joined Newcastle and they won the Premier League back in 1994-1995.

Quite honestly, the very last thing we expected today was a defeat, but you just never know in football and this will bring our fans back to earth – with a bump.

Utterly puzzled by the number of people now saying six changes was too many. That didn’t seem to be the mood BEFORE the match.
And I’m pretty sure I’ve read once or twice this week that even our second string is too good for the rest of the division. Those people surely relished the chance to be proved right today.
    We’ll still win the league.

I think making two changes to the back four is too much.

I also give Gayle MOM. For the shift he put in down the sideline. Constantly running. Chasing everything. (mostly the other unused subs). Done a hell of a lot more that the playing squad. Think rafa shud kept mbemba on and took Perez off. Perez was shit. There was more pressing, flair and desire from mbemba. Sorry but think rafa got this one wrong today. 3 changes maybe but not 6. Especially when 2nd and 3rd are winning games

Maybe the folk who said our 2nd string is too good for the Championship aren’t the same who said six changes was too many.

Maybe it’s Shelveys fault, too young to be captain?

The team sheet still looked too Hood for a team floundering at the foot of the table to turn over. The shape obviously didn’t solidify, maybe it would after two or three games, who knows. But I do think that wholesale changes are for experimental purposes. Perhaps today wasn’t one of those occasions to choose as one.

    No need to panic anyone!
We have 1 point better than last time we were in championship after 18 games and another stat that people keep worrying about is that we have lost 4 games already, same as the whole season last time but you have to remember we lost 3 by 18 games the last time and then only lost ONCE in 28 games after that in the league. If hoots can get us doing that then I fully believe rafa can.

What a fantastic result, wouldnt be surprised now if swans go on a run just as Newcastle did when we beat Norwich 4-3.

    Poor result.
Rafa, along with most bloggers, including myself, got it wrong pre match.
Too many changes with a view to progressing in the cup match mid week.
We must not take our eyes off the main goal, promotion, for chance of a trip darn sarf later in the season.
