Can Newcastle Reach League Cup Semi-Finals?

Newcastle have an opportunity tomorrow night at Hull to reach the semi-finals of a Cup competition for the first time in 11 years.

We reached the final of the FA Cup in two successive seasons back in 1998 and 1999 and lost 2-0 both times to Arsenal and Manchester United respectively.

The last time we reached a semi-final was back in 2005 when we were beaten 4-1 in the semi-finals of the FA Cup by Manchester United at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

We had beaten Chelsea and Tottenham (both 1-0) in the two previous rounds that year.

It’s that guy that came off the bench for Hull that got the goal that worries me. Maybe Phelan will save him and give NUFC a chance.
