Newcastle Could Nab This Classy Young Playmaker In January

Rafa Benitez will try to strengthen the Newcastle squad in January and also in the summer and there’s one area of the side where we seem to be short of talent.

Players with flair and creativity in central midfield are in short supply at Newcastle – and if Jonjo Shelvey is suspended for his misdemeanor charge by the FA, it’s a good question who will fill in for him while he’s out – maybe for 5 games.

One of the best young players we have been linked with this season is Anderlecht central midfielder Youri Tielemans.

19 year-old Anderlecht midfielder Youri Tielemans

He is a young Belgian footballer who already has one cap for the full Belgium side after making his debut as a late sub in the 1-1 friendly with the Netherlands earlier this month.

Youri was born in Belgium and has a Belgian father and a mother of Congolese descent.

The fact that Newcastle did business with Anderlecht in the summer of last year means it’s possible we could do another deal with the Belgium club for this outstanding teenager.

Newcastle brought in Aleksandar Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba from Anderlecht in the summer of last year.

This lad doesn’t turn 20 until next May and he became the youngest Belgian player to play in the Champions League, when he made his Champions League debut at the age of only 16 years and 148 days in October, 2013.

He is rated as one of the top young prospects in world football and has already played 153 games with 26 goals for Anderlecht.

This season he has 21 appearances with 9 goals.

Some of the top clubs in Europe are after him, but now that Rafa Benitez is at Newcastle we should be a strong draw for this 19 year-old.

It would not surprise us if Rafa goes all out this January to try to nab this top youngster.

What do you think?

    repost;
with perez struggling for form recently, and diame only patchy at best maybe playing atsu behind the striker may be worth a look at,….mitro needs to up his game or now murphy is fit he may find himself pushed out,…i like mitro but im still not convinced he’s got whats needed,he had a fantastic game a few games back, where he chased everything, closed down, battled and looked sharp….thats not happening enough though, perez is trying to hard, holding on to the ball to long, getting caught…he needs to be quicker of thought, easy passes and move he’s lost something this season, and needs to work on strength….but we are not half way thru the season yet hopefully they’ll come good….but other then that good season so far by the club, management and players so cant complain to much really,if any tbh.

think diame will get shelveys position if he is banned so that may improve his game,it might not,but will be interesting to see what happens if shelvey is banned.

Springy I agree with you that regardless of how we played last Saturday the No 10 has always been a problem position. Diame has been a disappointment and Perez relies on tricks and flicks which when they work he looks great but most of the time they don’t and he looks pants!

I think we could be down the Tielemans pecking order
According to Belgian media a bid from Real Madrid is imminent with Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal Tottenham and Bayern Munich all sniffing around the Anderlecht player!

Martoon after the selection of a new national manager the FA is now preoccupied with abuse of young players by coaches.

Apparently the FA cannot multitask !

We’d better be quick with this lad as he destined for bigger and better things than NUFC can offer
