The news tonight if that the FA hearing for Jonjo Shelvey is likely to be delayed for at least another three weeks according to the Mail.
That would have the hearing be during the week before Christmas.
The reason stated for the delay is said to be logistical reasons and it’s basically being able to line up the witnesses who will testify for one side or the other – so it is a bit difficult to find dates when all parties would be available.
Once the hearing does place and if Jonjo is found guilty of his charge he faces a long ban and a minimum of 5 games.
Jonjo Shelvey – misconduct charge from FA
Jonjo has been charged by the FA with misconduct late in the game on 17th September, when Newcastle lost at home to Wolves 2-0.
He has asked for a personal hearing and pleaded not guilty.
Here are the games coming up for Newcastle over the next two months so you can work out which games he would miss if he is found guilty in the week before Christmas.

It looks like he could miss the Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest, Blackburn and Brentford games plus the FA Cup 3rd round tie if the hearing is in the week beginning Monday 19th December and he is found guilty as charged.
Hopefully we will be bringing in another play-maker in the January transfer window because Shelvey is the only real creative central midfielder we have in the squad.
