It’s been a bad week for Newcastle so far after we lost to 3rd bottom Blackburn Rovers in front of 52,000 fans last Saturday with a weakened team.
And then when we were essentially at full strength on Tuesday night and had most of the play and most of the chances we were beaten in the EFL Cup quarter finals by 3rd bottom Hull City of the Premier League.
We lost 3-1 on penalties – after the game ended 1-1 after extra time.
We would have drawn Manchester United in the semi-finals if we had won that game.
In those games 90% of fans thought we would beat Blackburn and 75% of fans thought we would beat Hull.
We didn’t, but we must try to get back on track at the City Ground tomorrow night and get a win against Nottingham Forest who are currently 17th in the league with 22 points.

Comment #1After the week we’ve had so far, we need to get something from Friday’s game.
The fixture programme hasn’t been kind to us, and a few of those expected to start v Forest will be playing two games in quick succession.
I expect a tough game. 3 points would be a big bonus.

Yedlin Lascelles Clarke Dummett
